Chandan Roy Sanyal, who is well-known for his acting skills, has gained a lot of notice because of his role as Bhopa Swami in the widely watched web series Aashram. Born on January 30th, 1980, in New Delhi, he comes from a Bengali family. He finished his schooling at Raisina Bengali School and subsequently obtained a bachelor’s degree with honors in Mathematics from Zakir Husain College.

Sanyal first dipped his toes into acting by taking on a small part as Batukeshwar Dutt in the 2006 movie Rang De Basanti, which was helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Yet, it was his portrayal of Mikhail in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2009 film Kaminey that earned him praise from critics and established him within the industry.

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to demonstrate my adaptability across multiple film industries and genres. In the Bengali cinema scene, I left a lasting impression with my role in Mahanagar@Kolkata (2010), and I’ve consistently captivated audiences with my performances in films like Aparajita Tumi (2012) and Tope (2017).

Among the Hindi films he’s worked on are standout productions such as F.A.L.T.U (2011), D-Day (2013), Jazbaa (2015), and Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017). In 2021, he was featured in the action-thriller Sanak.

4. Stepping beyond the silver screen, I’ve left an indelible mark in the digital realm as well. My role as Swami Bhupendra Singh, or Bhopa Swami, in the MX Player series Aashram has been met with great acclaim, opening up a fresh chapter in my acting journey. Furthermore, I’ve had the privilege of being involved in web series such as Parchhayee (2019), Bhram (2019), Forbidden Love (2020), and Ray (2021).

As a devoted admirer, I too find that Sanyal’s creative passions extend far beyond acting. He has been schooled in Chhau, an ancient dance style originating from eastern India, under the tutelage of Bhumikeshwar Singh at the Triveni Kala Sangam academy.
