Academy Museum and CJ ENM Partner Up for Korean Content-Themed Event Ahead of KCON

The Academy Museum of Cinematic Arts and the South Korean media conglomerate, CJ ENM, have joined forces to organize a celebratory event showcasing Korean media content.

Entitled “K-Culture Night at the Academy Museum in collaboration with KCON,” the upcoming event will commemorate both the 13th anniversary of the K-pop festival and CJ ENM’s 30th anniversary. Slated for July 31, this celebration is a part of the three-year partnership between CJ ENM and the Academy Museum, a collaboration that was announced earlier in the year.

Tonight at the David Geffen Theater within the museum, an exciting celebration of Korean culture – known as K-Culture Night – is scheduled to unfold. The event will feature a variety of prominent entertainers. American-Korean singer Eric Nam has been chosen to host the evening. Performers such as dancer Choi Hojong, K-pop sensations Lee Youngji and P1Harmony, J-pop group Is:sue, and actor Yim Siwan from the hit series “Squid Game” will grace the stage throughout the night. Notably, all these stars are also slated to perform at KCON during that same weekend.

The initial collaboration between CJ EMN and the Academy Museum resulted in the debut of “Inspiration from Directors: Bong Joon Ho” – an exhibition showcasing the works of the director of Parasite, which was unveiled in March.

The top global K-pop festival, KCON, is coming back to downtown’s Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena from August 1st to 3rd for a three-day extravaganza. This provides a fantastic opportunity for local K-Pop enthusiasts to witness numerous beloved acts performing together under one roof.

2022’s KCON schedule features acts like HxW (Hoshi and Woozi from Seventeen), NCT 127, Aespa, Monsta X, Key, IVE, NMIXX, and Zerobaseone. Additionally, Baby DONT Cry, Riize, Hwasa, Meovv, Nowz, Idid, Izna, Jackson Wang, J-pop group JO1, Roy Kim, I-dle, Yuqi, AllDay Project, Cravity, and Kep1er will grace the stages during the three-day concert sequence. Unfortunately, the girl group Kiss of Life will not be able to attend as previously planned.
