Actors Steven Weber, Lori Petty, Cynda Williams, Mitchell Anderson Join Lineup for Pride LIVE! Hollywood Festival

Actor Steven Weber, along with Lori Petty, Cynda Williams, and Mitchell Anderson, are set to appear in Pride LIVE! Hollywood, an event that runs until June 29th at various locations throughout Hollywood.

The first pop culture event will honor the 30th anniversary of the LGBT comedy “Jeffrey” by featuring star Weber, who is set to reunite with his co-stars from “Wings” and “Dracula: Dead and Loving It,” specifically Amy Yasbeck.

In the meantime, Petty, Williams, and Anderson have teamed up with their co-stars Billy Wirth, Tim Perez, Chris Cleveland, and Eddie Garcia to honor pioneering producer Steven J. Wolfe and his trailblazing film “Relax… It’s Just Sex.

Over there, I’m thrilled to share that our festival buddy, Amoeba Music, is organizing a complimentary Pride LIVE! Hollywood gig featuring Durand Jones & The Indications. After the electrifying performance, they will be graciously signing their newest album, “Flowers”.

I’ve got something exciting to share! A special addition has been made to our schedule – a screening of the classic disco flick, “Can’t Stop the Music”. Not only that, but we’ll have the privilege of hearing from the movie’s screenwriter, Bruce Vilanch, and cast member, Leigh Taylor-Young. As a fan, I can hardly wait!

Previously mentioned, additional events encompass a sneak peek of the fresh U.K. movie titled “Unicorns,” followed by the short film named “Barbie Boy.

The Hollywood Reporter is the festival’s presenting media sponsor. 

Initiated by Mark Lieber and Adam Newman, the creators of Infinity Festival, this event seeks to honor exceptional entertainment — encompassing both timeless classics and modern creations — from a LGBTQ+ perspective. The event is being orchestrated and hosted by Jim Colucci, a bestselling author known for “Golden Girls Forever,” and Frank DeCaro, a writer-performer recognized from “The Daily Show” and Sirius XM OutQ, in collaboration with The Hollywood Partnership and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Joining forces with Lieber, Newman, Colucci, and DeCaro are Brian Folb, a significant figure within the Hollywood community and CEO of Hollywood Offices, as well as Jeroen Hallaert, a seasoned production professional, who are also co-founders of Pride LIVE!.

Past happenings featured various events such as a 40th anniversary commemoration for “The Golden Girls,” where behind-the-scenes stories about the conflict between Betty White and Bea Arthur were shared, a 25th-anniversary gathering of “Queer as Folk,” a homage to Norman Lear, and a showing of “Saturday Night Fever” with director John Badham and actress Donna Pescow in attendance.

Notable events also featured the premiere of “A Big Gay Hairy Hit! Where the Bears Are The Documentary” in Los Angeles, as well as a screening of “The World According to Allee Willis,” a film about the renowned L.A. songwriter known for hits like “September,” “Neutron Dance,” and the theme song for “Friends.” This screening was graced by Mark Mothersbaugh, one of DEVO’s founders.

Legendary stand-up comedian George Wallace talked about his part in Amazon Prime’s Trans family comedy titled “Clean Slate”, while actress Donna Pescow and director John Badam shared insights into the production process behind the iconic disco film, “Saturday Night Fever”.

Pride LIVE! in Hollywood runs until June 29 and can be found at various locations such as NeueHouse Hollywood, W Hollywood, The Ricardo Montalban Theatre, Emerson College, Amoeba Music, The Aster, and the indie theater Cinelounge, which is situated within the Hollywood Offices at 6464 Sunset.
