Jupiter Miami will soon reveal “Serenity Now,” an upcoming solo showcase by the New York-based artist Adam Himebauch. This exhibition is scheduled to run from February 16th until March 20th.
In “Serenity Now”, Himebauch simplifies his work significantly, displaying a sequence of monochromatic vistas that draw influence from pre-urban Miami and a recent visit to Jamaica. This is quite the contrast to his regular performances, providing a peaceful, reflective transition in his artistic approach.
For Himebauch, monochromatic landscapes aren’t uncharted waters. Back in 2020, the self-educated artist delved into hyper-saturated, intricately detailed forest tableaus to test his technical skills. These works turned out to be key components of Back to the Future, a multi-faceted project that combined various media and nostalgia. This project used a primarily black-and-white Instagram feed with occasional splashes of vibrant color as a backdrop.
In “Serenity Now,” Himebauch switches from grandeur to serenity, opting for a subtle, thoughtful style that showcases his artistic growth moving away from theatricality and deeper into the core of painting – its pure, unadulterated soul.
