Adria Arjona to Star With Michael B. Jordan in ‘Thomas Crown Affair’

Actress Adria Arjona has been confirmed to join forces with Michael B. Jordan in the new version of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

I, as a gamer, am taking on the roles of both director and lead actor in an exciting remake of a classic film currently being produced in London. This movie is a modern take on Norman Jewison’s 1968 original titled the same name, featuring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. The new cast includes Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart. We’re aiming for a theater release on March 5, 2027.

Taylor Russell, who was initially cast alongside Jordan in the upcoming film, has left the project due to creative disagreements, as confirmed by a report from The Hollywood Reporter last week.

In a subsequent draft, Drew Pearce (from “The Fall Guy”) penned the screenplay, following initial work by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson. The production teams consist of Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo from Outlier Society, Charles Roven from Atlas Entertainment, as well as Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff’s Toberoff Productions. Alan Trustman, the original film’s author, assumes an executive producer role.

The classic film titled “The Thomas Crown Affair” earned two Oscar nominations, centering around an insurance investigator chasing down the mastermind behind a bank robbery. In 1999, there was a remake featuring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo in the leading roles.

Actress Arjona is recognized for her roles in series like the Disney+ Star Wars show “Andor” as well as films such as “Blink Twice” and “Hit Man”. Upcoming, she will appear alongside Dakota Johnson in the Neon and Topic Studio comedy “Splitsville”.

In the upcoming movie, “The Thomas Crown Affair,” Jordan is rejoining the same studio that launched his directorial premiere in 2023, which was none other than “Creed III.

Jordan shared a unique perspective on “The Thomas Crown Affair” during a video presentation at CinemaCon in April. He emphasized to the audience that his film is not simply a rehash of previous versions.

Arjona is associated with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Anonymous Content, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Stone Genow as her representatives.

Variety was first to report on Arjona’s casting.
