Deepika Padukone inadvertently sparked a trend within the entertainment industry, and today, it seems that all actors are either openly or covertly backing her. The actress made headlines when she left Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit due to his unwillingness to accommodate her request for an 8-hour workday. Since then, Ajay Devgn and Mani Ratnam have publicly expressed their support for her stance, and now Pankaj Tripathi has joined the conversation by advocating for the ability to say no on set. He emphasized the importance of knowing one’s limits and shared that he cannot continue working for 16-18 hours straight.
In an interview with Anupama Chopra for The Hollywood Reporter, Pankaj Tripathi admitted that he often struggles to decline requests. However, he added that he’s currently working on improving his ability to do so. When discussing long workdays on set, the actor emphasized the importance of recognizing one’s limits and assertively saying ‘no’ when necessary.
Pankaj Tripathi candidly discussed periods when his workdays grew lengthy, often reaching 16 to 18 hours on set. In a jocular tone, the actor from “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl” remarked, “I’m essentially an actor who’s turned into a laborer.
As an ardent admirer putting words to paper, I must confess my boundaries are sacred. In future engagements, I’ll diplomatically decline exceeding those limits by expressing I’ve reached my limit for the day. During interviews, with palms pressed together in a gesture of humility, I’ll articulate that any remaining tasks will be tackled tomorrow.
For those not familiar, Deepika Padukone recently withdrew from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie “Spirit” alongside Prabhas due to a disagreement. She requested an 8-hour workday and a remuneration of approximately Rs 40 crores, but these terms were refused by the director of “Animal”. This dispute resulted in Deepika being replaced by Triptii Dimri in the film.
In terms of professional endeavors, the fourth season of Pankaj Tripathi’s streaming series titled “Criminal Justice” has recently been unveiled. There are merely three more episodes remaining in this series, and the anticipation among viewers is palpable.
Additionally, there have been rumors swirling that he may take over the role from Paresh Rawal in the upcoming film “Hera Pheri 3,” following a digital image depicting him as Baburao circulating online. However, these reports remain unverified at this time.
