This time around on ‘The Bachelor’, the season has wrapped up, with Grant Ellis narrowing down the field to just one lady, whom we saw step out of limos at the Bachelor Mansion mere weeks ago. Throughout three hours, there were tears flowing, words of wisdom exchanged, and in the end, Grant chose Juliana Pasquarosa as the one he wanted to pop the question to. As I watched the Season 29 adventure unfold, I found myself contemplating a significant alteration the series should implement for upcoming seasons:

No more three-hour finales!

It was clear throughout the entire season that Grant Ellis would find it tough to decide between his last two ladies, Juliana Pasquarosa and Litia Garr, in the final episode. However, apart from this dilemma, there were no major surprises or intense drama that warranted a lengthy three-hour broadcast. As a result, we were left with a lot of unnecessary content such as repetition about the positive aspects of each woman, rehashes of previously shown dates, excess scenes, and an abundance of advertisements.

It’s not just me who feels this way; numerous individuals from Bachelor Nation expressed their discontent on social media regarding the 2025 TV schedule block, with one fan humorously commenting.

At certain points, it seemed clear that the producers of The Bachelor were stretching the show, such as when they made Juliana Pasquarosa walk an excessive distance to meet Grant Ellis’s family. In reality, it took her a prolonged 30 seconds to walk from where she started to where he was, which was just 20 minutes into the three-hour finale. This led me to anticipate a lengthy evening ahead.

My argument became validated when, barely an hour into the broadcast, Jesse Palmer mentioned Charity Lawson, Clayton Echard, and Gerry Turner in relation to Grant Ellis expressing love to his final two women. Although I have no issues with these gentlemen, Bachelor Nation has been particularly critical of Clayton (due to the infamous “Rose Ceremony from Hell”) and Gerry (following his swift divorce during the “Golden Bachelor” season), which leads me to wonder about their inclusion in providing insight on Grant’s predicament. Many viewers, including myself, perceived it as unnecessary filler in the show.

I don’t typically enjoy films lasting more than three hours, especially not on Mondays. If I’m feeling tired at work the next day, I prefer a compelling narrative rather than “Grant was in conflict.” A viewer from Bachelor Nation expressed it as follows:

While Joan Vassos’ finale didn’t include 17 ads for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives or 25 minutes of Jesse Palmer urging us to grab tissues because he was about to make a life-changing announcement, those elements weren’t missed in the end.
