In simpler terms, among the highly esteemed actresses in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt are two standouts. Previously, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali chose between them, selecting Alia. Now, the director of Stree 2, Amar Kaushik, has expressed his opinion on who he believes is the superior actress, again choosing Alia.
During an interview on Game Changers with Komal Nahta, Amar Kaushik played a lively quick-fire game. When asked to pick the superior actress between Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, Amar shared his aspiration to collaborate with both talented actresses. He stated, “I’d like to work with both of them,” before ultimately choosing Alia.
Previously, during an interview on the same network, Imtiaz Ali was posed a similar question about choosing between Deepika and Alia. Both actresses have appeared in films directed by him. Ultimately, he opted for his lead actress from Highway as his choice.
As of now, Amar Kaushik hasn’t collaborated with either Deepika Padukone or any other actress in a movie. Looking back at 2024, he publicly expressed his desire for a Chennai Express-style comedy film with Deepika Padukone. During the TopMob Director’s Roundtable discussion, this director disclosed his aspiration to work on such a project with her.

The cast included Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi. The horror comedy was well-received by audiences and became a massive hit at the box office.
Recently, Amar has become a producer for the upcoming action-drama film titled Sky Force, teaming up with Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande. This movie stars Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. Following this production, Amar is now working on Thama, the next installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. This film is set in a world of vampires and features Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna as the main characters. Thama is scheduled to hit theaters on Diwali 2025.
Currently, Alia Bhatt’s upcoming films include Alpha and Love & War. As for Deepika Padukone, she has not yet disclosed any of her future projects.
