Now, I find myself equally excited about my upcoming venture, which will see me team up with Saif Ali Khan, Kareena’s esteemed husband. At a recent conversation during the Cinevesture International Film Festival in Chandigarh, Hansal Mehta announced that he will be collaborating with Saif Ali Khan for the first time on a movie. He further disclosed that the plot is inspired by a novel, stating, “Saif and I are making a film together. I am the director of this project, which is based on a book.

During the interview, Hansal Mehta shared his desire to team up with Kareena Kapoor Khan once more following The Buckingham Murders. He disclosed that he had already submitted a script to her. Moreover, Mehta emphasized that whenever he considered a script, he hoped for an opportunity to work with Kareena.

Hansal commended Kareena’s on-set readiness, her dedication, and her positive energy. He referred to her as a ‘major star’, but expressed it was an honor to collaborate with her. He further stated that working with her felt like teaming up with Pratik Gandhi or Rajkummar Rao.

Not only did The Buckingham Murders mark Kareena Kapoor Khan’s debut collaboration with Hansal Mehta, but it was also her initial foray into production. The ensemble cast featured Ranveer Brar, Ash Tandon, Assad Raja, Prabhleen Sandhu, Sanjeev Mehra, Adwoa Akoto, and Zain Hussain. In this movie, Kareena took on the character of Detective Jasmeet Bhamra, who delves into a mystery surrounding a missing child.

Moving forward with her future endeavors, Kareena Kapoor Khan will appear in the next movie by director Meghna Gulzar, tentatively named “Daayra”.

Currently, Saif Ali Khan is preparing for the debut of Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins. This production, directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, is overseen by Siddharth Anand. In addition to Saif, the ensemble includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta. As of now, the heist movie is scheduled for Netflix but the specific release date remains unconfirmed.
