As a seasoned gamer of life and Netflix series, I can confidently say that Outer Banks is one of the most thrilling teen dramas out there. With its return to our screens for Season 4, Part 1, it’s like reuniting with old friends, albeit friends who are constantly finding themselves in perilous situations.
Spoilers for Season 4, Part 1 of Outer Banks are ahead
Without a doubt, one of Netflix’s top-tier teen dramas, “Outer Banks,” is back on the 2024 TV Schedule for its fourth and concluding season. Much like many original shows on this streaming platform, the season has been divided into two segments, with Part 1 brimming with drama, tension, and a few unexpected turns. The release of Part 2, scheduled for November 7th, leaves fans just under a month to speculate about what will unfold next, and I certainly have my own desires for the final episodes’ developments.
To date, Season 4 has impressively filled fans in on the Pogues’ recent activities following their last appearance. The opening episode offers insights into events that transpired during the time leap from Season 3’s conclusion, while Episode 2 swiftly propels the characters into a fresh escapade as they search for a missing amulet connected to Blackbeard’s rule. In true action-packed fashion, the initial five episodes feature a heart-pounding underwater scene, multiple close calls with death, and the inevitable quest for hidden riches.
The climax unfolds in the last episode of Part 1, causing all characters (including us devoted fans) to feel a range of distressing emotions. Despite the grim situation for the cast of OBX, I’m confident that Season 4 Part 2 will push them further into hardship to make their ultimate victory even more satisfying. As we approach these last five episodes, there are three key events I eagerly anticipate before the final credits roll.
I Want The Pogues To Find And Keep The Treasure (And I Hope It’s Worth It This Time)
Fans of Outer Banks may have varying opinions about the show’s ideal couple, but there’s one point on which we can all concur: The Pogues should be the ones to discover and retain this season’s treasure, given everything they’ve endured. If the writers were to go for a Season 2 twist where the Pogues lose the cross to their adversaries, I would be extremely disappointed.
This time around, it’s not just about unearthing and safeguarding the loot; I need the legendary “Blue Crown” to be worth the struggle. In Season 3, we stumbled upon El Dorado and pocketed a cool million in gold, but that fortune vanished faster than you can say “spendthrift.” If we’re ready to risk life and limb (once more), the “Blue Crown” had better carry a value that will let us live comfortably and exit the treasure-hunting business for good. It’s our due reward.
I Need John B. To Open Up To Someone About His Trauma And Get The Help He Needs
It’s possible that I’m the only one who feels this way, but I think it would be interesting to have a conversation between John B. and a professional about his father’s death trauma and his concerns about becoming similar to him. This could help explore his character more deeply during this season as he seems to be grappling with more than just the treasure hunt. He appears to be hesitant about engaging in dangerous activities, which is unusual for someone who has been so willing to take risks for the past three seasons.
Though it’s understandable that John B might be growing more careful given his increased responsibilities, I can’t help but yearn for his bold leadership and thrilling spirit to resurface before the series concludes. However, I hope this happens organically, as a result of him processing everything he’s experienced so far.
The Antagonists Need To Pay For What They’ve Done For Once
Despite how fantastic “Outer Banks” has been, it often tends to give its seasonal antagonists an easy pass. Ward survived numerous seasons, only to meet a heroic end. The Kooks still haven’t learned to stay away from the Pogues. Even Mr. Singh’s death seemed underwhelming in comparison to the larger storyline.
In the final season of the series, I truly hope the writers intensify the plot and allow the Pogues to exact the retribution they’ve rightfully earned throughout the past four seasons. Ideally, Cleo would be the one to bring down Lightner for his actions against her and Terrance, Sarah could put Rafe in his place and find closure, and the core four Pogues could silence the Kooks once and for all by demonstrating that Kildare is truly their home. In essence, I wish for the Pogues to enjoy a peaceful future together, free from any interference that might disrupt what they’ve collectively constructed.
And that’s only the beginning of my wish list for the final five episodes. Of course, I need to know how JJ is going to react to the family bombshell that was dropped on him. Plus, I want to know if my suspicions about who the murderer is are true. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long because Part 2 of Outer Banks will be released on November 7th. For now, you can revisit the Pogues by streaming the first four seasons with a Netflix subscription.
