As a seasoned gamer of CBS’s action-packed series, I can confidently say that the upcoming episode of FBI: International on November 12 is one not to be missed! The series has always been known for its gripping storylines and dynamic characters, but this time around, we find ourselves rooting for Amanda Tate as she steps out of her analyst role and into the field.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that “FBI: International” returns to CBS this fall 2024 following a brief hiatus, with an edge-of-your-seat episode scheduled for November 12th. The usually reliable member of the Fly Team finds themselves in peril!
On November 12 (streaming exclusively on Paramount+), you’ll find the latest episode titled “The Unwinnable War.” In this installment, Tate receives a call from the deputy inspector general to participate in an undercover operation. The target? A DEA agent suspected of being corrupt. While undercover work is familiar territory for many team members, we wonder how prepared the analyst will be for the tasks ahead. Christina Wolfe hinted: “How ready is the analyst for the challenges?
How well-equipped is she for this? She hasn’t had formal training, but her ability is uncertain in this storyline. Can she manage this challenge successfully? It’s a considerable task, and initially, Wes offers her the chance to back out, but she decides that she can handle it and takes on the responsibility with determination.
Amanda Tate might be open to the task, but being ready isn’t automatically a certainty! As an exceptional analyst, Tate is unmatched on the team, yet when it comes to “The Unwinnable War,” she remains relatively untested and uncertain about what awaits her. When I pointed out that Tate appears to be someone who wouldn’t shy away from a challenge if presented with one, Wolfe replied:
Certainly not. Tate is incredibly determined and appears to have a strong belief in her skills within the team. I believe she can be quite impulsive as well. She herself mentions, though I’m not certain if it made it into the final script, that she carries a bit of a grudge, and when someone suggests she can’t do something, her instinct is to prove them wrong. It’s important for her to feel capable and trusted in her abilities, and she wants others to recognize her competence, assigning her complex cases.
It’s intriguing to find out how Tate and Wes interact during this episode, since her past assignments in Season 3 involved Raines, an era when Forrester was leading the Fly Team. You can catch up on that specific episode, titled “Rules of Blackjack,” by subscribing to Peacock for streaming access.
As a gaming enthusiast diving into the thrilling world of FBI: International, I find myself puzzled – why am I, Tate, the one infiltrating undercover roles when the rest of our Fly Team boasts more field experience? You’ll need to catch the upcoming episode to unravel the intricacies. However, my fluency in Spanish is set to play a pivotal role in this mission, something that Christina Wolfe, who grew up in Spain, seems particularly pleased about. She shared her thoughts with me: “I’m really excited to see how FBI: International is utilizing my Spanish skills effectively.
I find it quite intriguing that they incorporate Spanish into the storyline more deeply this season, especially since Tate used it sparingly in the last one. What makes it even more captivating is how she’s using it to crack the case. Watching this is both enjoyable and nostalgic for me as I spent my childhood in Madrid, though we didn’t physically travel there for this production. Reading the script, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement, exclaiming something like, ‘Wow, going back to Madrid! This is fantastic!’ [laughs]. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an actual return, as they simulated Madrid instead. Regardless, it was still an incredibly entertaining experience.
The FBI: International team frequently visits locations where their shows are based, such as London during the previous season’s major Smitty episode. However, this time Budapest will be standing in for Spain. Wolfe praised the show for successfully executing this switch, and revealed a part of the upcoming episode she filmed outside of a studio set.
The team responsible for set production did an outstanding job in locating places that convincingly resembled Madrid. I must admit, I was quite taken aback by their skill. Interestingly, the majority of the filming took place in Budapest; however, there was one specific town they transformed to mimic Madrid. I even made a trip to this location myself. It’s not too far from Budapest, but I drove there specifically to shoot a scene where I opened a door. [laughs] That has been my most exciting filming location experience so far.
Luckily, fans won’t have to wait too long to witness Tate embarking on her inaugural undercover mission with The Fly Team. This exciting event unfolds on Tuesday, November 12 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. For a glimpse of the peril she encounters in a honey trap operation, take a look at the promo below:
