As a long-time Star Wars enthusiast who has weathered more than my fair share of disappointments and delays, I must admit that the confirmation of Ahsoka Season 2 is music to my ears. As the sole writer for Ahsoka, with several other projects under his belt, including the highly anticipated Mandalorian movie, it’s no wonder that Filoni seems to be taking his sweet time with Season 2. In an interview with Extra TV, Filoni confirmed that although he’s actively working on the project, the process to resolve certain storylines from the first season hasn’t been easy. “I’ve been writing it, and I’m still the single writer on it,” Filoni said. “I’ve been enjoying doing that, but it’s a challenge, of course.”
Tackling certain sections has proven tough, and ensuring everything flows smoothly while maintaining an exhilarating experience for the audience is no easy feat.
While both Filoni and a star of Ahsoka have given tentative assurances that Ahsoka won’t meet a similar fate to The Acolyte anytime soon, fans should brace themselves for a long wait, considering the suspenseful ending of Season 1. Filming for the second season is anticipated to start in the summer of next year, but Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Sabine Wren, suggests that we might not see Ahsoka on Disney+ until 2026. However, more information about the show could be shared during the Star Wars celebration in April 2025.

It’s been whispered that fans of Ahsoka might be disheartened to hear this: there are rumors suggesting that the show may end with its second season due to Lucasfilm’s plans. Contrary to the show’s success and high ratings, Lucasfilm appears to be shifting its focus from television shows towards films, which could explain the sudden ending.
