Last season introduced Eman Esfandi as the older version of the popular animated Jedi character Ezra, who had been lost in another galaxy for years.

Ezra is set to appear in Season 2, but he’ll take on a new character this time. Previously, the characters in Ahsoka had been pursuing him for a significant part of the season while he was trapped beyond the galaxy with Lars Mikkelsen’s Thrawn. However, since Ezra won’t be part of the struggle against Mikkelsen’s Chiss warlord as Ahsoka and Sabine now find themselves outside the known universe, his role will differ from what it was previously.

In the latest portrait, Ahsoka sports a significantly shorter hairstyle and is clean-shaven, a notable change from her appearance as the character in the “Rebels” series.

In Season 1, Esfandi made his debut portraying an older version of the beloved Jedi character, sporting a beard and long hair that nearly reached his shoulders. This new look suggested that he had been stranded in another galaxy alongside the villainous Thrawn.

In this new season, we’ll see Rosario Dawson and Natasha Liu Bordizzo joined by Eman Esfandi, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Hayden Christensen in a star-studded Star Wars cast.

How Will Ezra Bridger Factor Into Ahsoka Season 2?

In the second season of Ahsoka, Ezra Bridger, portrayed by Eman Esfandi, is set to take on a markedly distinct role compared to his performance in Season 1.

Initially in the series, this character functioned as a catalyst for Ahsoka and Sabine, embarking on a cosmic journey beyond the familiar galaxy in search of the missing Jedi.

Now, the situations have flipped. By the end of Season 1, Ashoka and Sabine found themselves stranded on Peridia, where they encountered Ezra. Meanwhile, Thrawn and Ezra are back within the familiar Star Wars universe from which they originated.

In Season 2, it’s expected that Ezra will assume a more formal position within the New Republic, where he might reconnect with his ex-comrade from the Ghost crew, Hera Syndulla, and possibly also encounter Zeb again.

It’s quite probable that Ezra plays a crucial role in communicating with Ahsoka again on Peridea, while also managing Thrawn’s gathering of forces for a full-scale attack within the Star Wars universe.
