As a seasoned gamer with a deep appreciation for both automotive culture and streetwear fashion, I can’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline upon witnessing this stunning collaboration between Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) and Porsche. The 993 Turbo has always been a symbol of raw power and timeless elegance, and ALD’s signature design language takes it to a whole new level.
Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) has teamed up with Porsche once more to reveal a customized version of the legendary 993 Turbo. This new creation is the result of a collaboration between individuals such as Teddy Santis, Creative Director at ALD, Marc Shammah, Justin Placek and others.
In the ’90s, the iconic 993 Turbo was acclaimed as a revolutionary sports car. Today, its status is elevated even further through ALD’s distinctive design approach. The vehicle boasts a unique Mulberry Green exterior, a shade that has been perfected and refined by the brand throughout the years. Design elements reminiscent of the potent 993 Turbo S are incorporated, such as a rear whale-tail wing, front splitter, and upgraded exhaust system. To match, 18-inch Porsche Turbo Twist rims, finished in Mulberry Green with gold accents, are installed, along with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.
Within, the car showcases a sleek, single-tone design scheme. The interior is adorned with rich dark brown leather and lambswool, accompanied by hardback seats, floor coverings in the same color, and brand logos delicately stitched onto the headrests. A brass gear shift knob resembling the Unisphere – a well-known symbol of Queens – pays homage to the brand’s New York heritage. The door sills proudly display the phrase “A team hailing from Queens, carrying the American dream,” reinforcing ALD’s roots.
Apart from unveiling the vehicle, ALD also plans to debut a line of clothing called “993 Aimé,” modeled after restoration work, with specifics still undisclosed at this time. The images released so far hint at a pair of New Balance 993 shoes, which are anticipated to be launched together with the collection.
On November 22-23, the custom-made 993 model is set to make its grand entrance, and it will be showcased at ALD’s main store located on 32 Broadwick Street in London.
