As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I must say that my admiration for the enchanting duo, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, has only grown stronger over the years. Having witnessed their journey together since Kuch Naa Kaho, it’s fascinating to learn about their experiences from a different perspective – that of Rohan Sippy, their director.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are highly respected as one of Bollywood’s beloved couples. They have collaborated on numerous movies, including the 2003 production titled “Kuch Naa Kaho.” Rohan Sippy, the film’s director, reminisced about working with them and pointed out that Aishwarya was already an established star at the time, whereas Abhishek had just started his journey in cinema.
In a recent chat with Friday Talkies, Rohan Sippy disclosed that during their collaboration, Aishwarya and Abhishek were at key points in their respective careers. Notably, Abhishek was still relatively fresh when he joined the Dhoom cast, yet he and his co-star developed a strong rapport.
The refugee had recently been freed, and then came the moment depicted in ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai’. At that point, he was still quite new to us, but we had an easygoing, friendly relationship, as Rohan explained.
Instead, he noted that unlike Aishwarya, who was already established in success, Sippy considered her a superstar and commended her acting talents.
He noted, “Currently, few actresses embody a full Bollywood heroine persona like Aishwarya Rai did, and those who have come after her haven’t managed to replicate it.
Rohan shared that the actress from Fanney Khan had consistently supported him throughout their collaboration, making it an enlightening journey for him. He admitted that she excelled in beauty, dancing, acting, and charisma, with no one coming close to her in these aspects.
As an ardent admirer, I can attest to the remarkable modesty of the exceptional Aishwarya. Despite her towering success, she humbly heeded my directives and acknowledged my role as a director – a gesture that could have easily been overlooked given her wealth of experience. Instead, she chose not to assert her authority or impose her methods, a testament to her respect for collaborative efforts in our work together.
He remarked, “She was incredibly uplifting and reassuring, and it truly boosts your confidence when you’re starting out on your own. It’s a wonderful feeling.
Besides Kuch Naa Kaho, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan collaborated on several films including Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Naa Kaho, Dhoom 2, Raavan, Umaro Jaan, and Guru. Before their marriage on April 20, 2007, in a traditional wedding ceremony, they were together for quite some time. Their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, was born to the loving couple.
