If you’re someone who enjoys action shows where the protagonist stands firm against adversity without tolerating any nonsense, then Reacher Season 3 might just be the most eagerly awaited series on the 2025 TV lineup. Throughout the first two seasons, Alan Ritchson‘s character, a goal-oriented drifter, has effortlessly defeated all opposition, with his impressive physique frequently showcased as he delivers powerful blows. However, you won’t find Reacher pumping iron at the gym or engaging in regular workouts – not at all!
Actor Alan Ritchson, famously known for his role as a military veteran in various projects, is well-aware that fans sometimes tease about him maintaining his muscular physique without dedicating significant time to workouts. This point is particularly striking given that Ritchson admittedly puts in a great deal of effort to preserve the intimidating appearance associated with his character. When queried by GamesRadar+ about this matter, Ritchson emphasized the immense effort required to achieve the Reacher look. In his own words: “Maintaining such a physique as Reacher is not feasible without putting in maximum effort.
It’s a bit amusing, though odd, that Reacher has this incredible, almost unrealistic physique described in the books. He seems too perfect to be true, like a mythical creature. After all, achieving such a well-toned six-pack body as him would require extensive training and discipline.
In another words, I don’t doubt Ritchson’s assertions, but I’m confident that despite countless hours of practice, I would require extensive surgeries and digital effects to resemble Reacher. However, if there’s a Season 3 scene where he’s lying in bed due to straining all the muscles in his abdomen and thighs, that could be my “Reacher” moment.

For clarity, let me emphasize that the actor from Fast X indeed admitted to maintaining a regular workout routine and previously disclosed his motivational eight-word phrase. He generally watches his diet, excluding an occasional indulgence in cookies, unlike Reacher’s beer consumption habit.
It seems the live-action TV series isn’t the definitive reason for the discrepancy between Reacher’s physique and his workout regimens. As Alan Ritchson noted, the author himself had a bit of a playful approach to the character, making him remain unusually muscular without any obvious explanation.
Lee Child demonstrates a genuine sense of wit in his writing. In one instance, his character gets up from bed, stretches, and comments, “That’s today’s exercise routine.
How about this: Isn’t it intriguing to imagine a season of Reacher starring someone with a more rounded physique and less serious demeanor? Definitely, I’d welcome such a change! In fact, a comedic spin featuring a much softer actor could be quite amusing. However, suggesting anyone else might seem unkind. And suggesting myself might just sound…well, too perfect. By the way, I don’t think I’m equipped for any stunts that aren’t grilling-related.
Check out the big Reacher Season 3 trailer, which doesn’t exactly skimp on moments of badassery.
Get ready, because the wait is nearly done! On Thursday, February 20th, Alan Ritchson’s portrayal of Reacher will make its impactful entrance in our world as Season 3 debuts, exclusively available to those with an Amazon Prime subscription.
