As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that Alan Wake 2 has been one heck of a rollercoaster ride! The latest story expansion, set in the mysterious Lake House, has finally answered the question that’s been bugging us since the game’s release – what happened here?
The last story addition in Alan Wake 2’s series unfolds within one of the game’s enigmatic locations, the Lake House. Initially serving as the nerve center for all FBC-related activities, this expansion finally sheds light on the mystery that has intrigued us since the game was launched a year back: the answer to the question that has been lingering in our minds.
What happened in the Lake House?
In this guide, you will find all the locations and codes for each FBC computer.
Location 1
As a gamer, the trickiest lock I encountered was on the very first computer in the game. This puzzle lay hidden within Jules Marmont’s office, along my main story path. To unlock it, I had to delve into the nooks and crannies of the area, eventually uncovering a six-digit code that granted me access to the computer’s secrets.
For sharp-eyed gamers, locating the codes shouldn’t be too challenging. Just go through each piece of information until you come across a document titled “Memorandum on FBC’s Security and Privacy.
It’s possible to determine that the date referred to is July 18th, as that was when the Lake House initially opened, and the number 38 might have been the significant one on Jules’ daily quote note.
Location 2
The second computer can be found in Sublevel 2 after your first Shadow encounter.
After successfully handling the situation with the “Shaded” character, you’ll be on the correct path. All you need to do now is clear out the adversaries and make your way into the elevator that awaits you in this room filled with various typewriters.
In this confined space, you’ll encounter Ed Booker, engrossed in crafting tales similar to those of Alan Wake. Feel free to converse with him once you’ve accessed the computer. The code to unlock it is conveniently noted as 123456 on a slip next to the PC.
Location 3
As a gamer, I find myself venturing deeper into this digital world, and the third computer is tucked away in the Control Center, beyond the second one. It’s a bit of a brain teaser to reach it, so buckle up for some puzzle-solving fun! On your journey, you may come across a few Shaded foes, but don’t let them distract you. Save your strength for when you’ll need it most – I’ve got my eyes on the prize and won’t be slowed down by these pesky enemies just yet.
Solving the Control Center Computer isn’t tricky once you obtain the Level 2 Security Keycard from the deceased. Proceed into the adjacent room where you’ll discover another computer and a note.
The emails you can read are from a couple talking about their anniversary. They also added a footnote about a certain painting ID.
Check the calendar on the wall to identify their anniversary. Choose September 23 as your date.
To decipher the final two digits, look at the painting you discover first among the deceased. It’s titled Rudolph Lane’s Painting #25. The complete code is either 2509 or 2523, depending on whether it’s read as 25/09 or 25/23.
Location 4
The computer station number four is situated within the Inventory Management room, which is identifiable as the area where you initially met the Painted adversary. To gain entry, make sure you possess the Level 2 Security Keycard.
Hey there, fellow gamer! Watch out, those painted foes are lurking all around, so keep some distance from the walls. Once you’ve made it into the room, go ahead and unlock it, then take a peek at the computer inside. The code for that is on a sticky note next to the screen – it’s 021219. Oh, and before you set off again, be sure to grab the Black Rock Launcher. It’s crucial for taking down those pesky painted enemies!
Location 5
In Diana Marmont’s Office on Sublevel 4, you’ll find the last computer. Overcoming the moving offices teeming with Painted and Shaded adversaries will lead you there, a task that can be quite tough on higher difficulty levels. Once you successfully navigate these enemies, you should reach the center point.
The office stands out distinctly because it’s the brightest spot on the floor. You’re definitely on the correct path if you hear music rather than the distressing cries coming from the Darkened area.
The code to this computer is 685298 and is found on a sticky note beside the screen.
