As a fan who’s spent countless hours immersed in gripping crime dramas, I can confidently say that Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross in the upcoming Prime Video series is a casting decision that sends shivers down my spine. The teaser for ‘Cross’ has me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating the Nov. 14 premiere.
Detective Aldis Hodge hunts down a relentless murderer in the promotional clip for the upcoming Prime Video crime series, “Cross”, set to premiere on November 14th.
Hodge portrays the lead detective of Metro PD, who employs forensic psychology to delve into the minds of murderers and their victims, thereby identifying and eventually apprehending killers. However, the latest trailer presents a dangerous predicament for Cross as he chases after a psychopathically brilliant adversary who dons a terrifying mask, and may even have multiple accomplices, to stay one step ahead of Cross.
The man, who seems intent on retribution, declares, ‘I’m not a monster… I don’t kill for amusement.’ This leaves Detective Cross puzzled because the murderer he pursues alters the looks of his victims and orchestrates their deaths to appear as suicides or accidental drug overdoses.
Whomever turned him into something else was the one who took his life,” Cross explains, facing disbelief from his peers. However, he excels in the interrogation room compared to his personal life, as Cross continues to mourn the death of his wife, which occurred a year prior, leaving him too vulnerable to return the affection he so desperately craves.
At one point, Cross’ police partner, portrayed by Isaiah Mustafa, comments that he seems to be struggling. However, things at home become mysterious for Cross as he finds a family photograph of his wife and children, where her face and his eyes have been crossed out with pen marks.
Cross exclaims in surprise, “He was in my home!” As the trailer for Paramount Television Studios, Amazon MGM Studios, and Skydance Television unfolds into a heart-stopping suspense story, it’s clear that the series called Cross is built on characters first penned by renowned author James Patterson and crafted by showrunner and writer Ben Watkins.
Prior to the initial airing of its first season, the series “Cross” had already been given a green light for a second season. The first eight episodes were scheduled to premiere globally on Prime Video. In addition to Nick Stahl in the lead role, “Cross” features an outstanding ensemble cast that includes Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold.
The series is co-produced by Watkins, along with Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, Craig Siebels, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, Patrick Santa, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost.
