As an ardent fan of the captivating Alia Bhatt, I find myself in awe of her mesmerizing journey through Bollywood. From her enchanting debut in Student of The Year to her heart-stirring performances that have earned her a National Award, Alia has undeniably left an indelible mark on the film industry. Yet, there’s one perspective that intrigues me the most – Mukesh Chhabra’s belief that she remains unaware of her prodigious talent.
Ever since Alia Bhatt first appeared on the film scene in 2012 with Student Of The Year, she has dominated the industry and given memorable performances that earned her a National Award. However, renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra believes that Alia is yet to fully recognize her own talent.
In conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Mukesh complimented Alia Bhatt by saying, “I believe she’s unaware of her own talent.” He continued, expressing that this trait is admirable because, according to him, when an actor becomes aware they are a highly talented star, they often start calculating their performance. However, Alia isn’t like that; instead, her talent simply manifests naturally without her being consciously aware of it.
Mukesh believes she wouldn’t notice her own performances, she’d simply perform her role. He notes that Raha Kapoor’s mother can easily slip out of character without noticing, which is a testament to her talent. In essence, he said, “I think she doesn’t realize how gifted she truly is.”
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share an intriguing insight: The casting director explained that while some individuals develop over time through various experiences, the actress who played Gangubai Kathiawadi flourished remarkably after only one film. Just as Deepika Padukone climbed the ranks following Cocktail and Kriti Sanon gained popularity post Mimi, Alia seemed to have experienced a similar transformation under the right direction. The casting director emphasized that when the right director or mentor comes into someone’s life, they offer invaluable insights and perspectives that can significantly impact their growth. This could very well be the case with Alia.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share my thoughts on Mukesh Chhabra’s perspective on nepotism. He asserts that despite being born into the filmmaking dynasty of Mahesh Bhatt and the acting family of Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt has won acceptance because of her undeniable artistic talent. In his journeys across India, when he inquires about people’s favorite actresses, he consistently hears the names of Tabu and Alia Bhatt echoed back to him.
On the professional side, I’m eagerly looking forward to being a part of Vasan Bala’s upcoming film, “Jigra,” alongside Vedang Raina. Additionally, I am excited to announce that I have an upcoming project with YRF, known as the Spy Universe movie, Alpha.
