From her debut in Student of the Year to her recent marriage with Ranbir Kapoor, she has come a long way. It’s fascinating to witness her deep love for mehendi, a tradition deeply rooted in Indian culture, and how it has been a constant in her life, even during her busy schedule.
As a dedicated follower, I’m thrilled to share that in April 2022, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor exchanged vows in an intimate gathering at their Mumbai residence. The event was filled with heartfelt moments, and recently, renowned mehendi artist Veena Nagda opened up about the occasion during a chat with TopMob Hindi Rush. Intriguingly, Bhatt opted for a simple round mehendi pattern, which she holds dear to her heart. Veena, who has adorned numerous Bollywood weddings with her captivating henna designs, fondly recalls the elegance of Alia’s minimalistic yet stunning mehendi design on her special day.
While working alongside Alia Bhatt, who starred in Raazi, Veena shared that the actress harbors a profound affection for henna (mehendi) and eagerly awaits opportunities to adorn her hands with intricate patterns. Additionally, Veena noted that Alia has a special liking towards a certain round, minimalistic mehendi design, which she had utilized in a previous commercial project.
The chosen design for Alia’s wedding with Kapoor mirrored her affinity for circular motifs. Interestingly, during the filming of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Alia’s bridal henna was evident. Remarkably, this wedding took place only a week after their actual nuptials. For the movie’s wedding scene, they subtly intensified the existing design by darkening the mehendi.
Veena disclosed that she’s been collaborating with the actress ever since Alia made her debut in Student of the Year. At the time, designer Manish Malhotra requested Veena to conceal their partnership because Alia was being presented as a new leading lady. Since then, Veena has adorned Alia’s hands with mehendi for numerous films and advertising campaigns.
At the moment, Bhatt is busy filming the spy movie “Alpha,” which is being produced by Yash Raj Films, alongside Sharvari Wagh. They’ve recently completed shooting in Kashmir and even posted a picture about it on their social media platforms. The film is directed by Shiv Rawail and is overseen by Aditya Chopra.
In the upcoming future, she will make her appearance in Vasan Bala’s film titled “Jigra,” which co-stars Vedang Raina. This movie is expected to premiere on October 11, 2024, and is produced by Karan Johar’s production company, Dharma Productions. Additionally, she has a role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film “Love and War,” starring Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Furthermore, she is currently discussing potential roles with Farahan Akhtar for the upcoming film “Jee Le Zara,” which features Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra as well.
