All Concord maps & modes explained

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent exploring various galaxies and battling it out in multiplayer modes, I can’t help but be excited about Concord and its stunning collection of maps and diverse gameplay modes. Having had the privilege of participating in the closed beta, I’ve had a taste of what’s to come in this galactic adventure.


In the distant realms of the galaxy, Concord offers you captivating maps to discover as you engage in its various game modes.

For those who enjoy less formal skirmishes or for the strategically-minded, this game offers options to cater to your preferred gaming experience.

In this tutorial, we’ll go over all the maps and gameplay modes confirmed for Concord. We’ve tried out a few during the recent closed beta testing, and there are more to discover in this weekend’s open beta session.

There are currently six game modes that we know about in Concord so far:

  • Area Control
  • Cargo Run
  • Clash Point
  • Signal Hunt
  • Takedown
  • Trophy Hunt

Each of these modes is separated into two playlists: Brawl and Rivalry.

In simpler terms, “Brawl modes” refer to the standard game settings where cooperation among team members is minimal. Players engage in these types of matches primarily to earn a high score and are given the ability to respawn when they’re eliminated from the game.

In simpler terms, “Rivalry modes” refer to game types where competitors face off in rounds with a set objective, and there’s no coming back once you’re out. So, you need to plan your team strategies carefully as you strive to achieve your goals in each round.

Area Control

In the beta testing, we couldn’t experiment with this particular game mode. However, according to the PlayStation Store information, it involves a respawn mode in which players attempt to seize various zones scattered across the map.

Your experience seems reminiscent of the common control or dominance mode found in games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Cargo Run

In the Cargo Run gameplay style, competitors battle to seize a valuable commodity located centrally on the map. After securing the package, players need to carry it to either of the designated extraction sites and protect it there for a brief duration.

In this mode, there are set rounds with no respawns allowed. If a player is eliminated during a round, they have to wait until the next round before they can rejoin the game. This type of play is located under Rivalry and tends to emphasize cooperation and strategy among teams.

Clash Point

At Clash Point, which falls under the Rivalry classification, there’s a solitary capture site located centrally in the map. The objective for each team is to seize control of this point, and the first one to do so triumphs in that round. In this mode, players don’t get respawned after they’re eliminated, making it another engaging team experience.

Signal Hunt

As an avid gamer, I was initially excited to try out Signal Hunt when Concord first launched. However, to my disappointment, this mode seems to have gone missing during the beta testing phase. It’s no longer mentioned in the game or in the store listing.

Reports describe how gameplay resembles King of the Hill: Players compete to dominate a shifting capture point on the map, engaging in battles to gain and maintain control.

We don’t know when or if this mode will return in Concord, but we’ll update this guide when we do.

Takedown

In this mode, two teams go head-to-head with the goal of accumulating a total of 30 eliminations each.

Respawns are enabled in this mode, and it’s about as casual as Concord gets.

Trophy Hunt

As an avid gamer, I’ve come across another intriguing game mode called Trophy Hunt. This mode shares some similarities with Kill Confirmed but adds a unique twist. When a player meets their demise, they drop Trophies. The objective is to gather as many enemy Trophies as possible to boost your score. Additionally, you can secure the Trophies of fallen teammates to keep them from being claimed by the opposing side.

Just like Takedown, respawns are enabled for this one, so it resides in the Brawl playlist.

We’ve managed to play on four maps in Concord so far, with a fifth arriving in the open beta.

Bone Mines

This is the one that’s coming in the open beta, so we haven’t had a chance to play it just yet.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but be excited about the map preview I recently came across. This intricately designed labyrinth, adorned with twisting corridors made from bones, seems custom-made for intense close-quarters combat encounters. And the best part? It’s situated on the gripping in-game planet of Akkar.

Freewater

Freewater is a desert market town that bears a striking resemblance to something out of Star Wars.

The story is situated on the planet called Glance and features a three-part layout, consisting of two lengthy sides and a wider, more spacious area in between.

Shock Risk

On the planet of Leviathan, this setting appears to depict an offshore mining rig. The color scheme is dominated by muddy reds and oranges. Inside, you’ll find narrow corridors for combat, while outside, there are areas near the map’s edges.

Star Chamber

Among all the maps I’ve come across, I particularly enjoy “Star Chamber.” This map is located on the gloomy planet of the same name and features a large central chamber encircled by the design.

In the heart of the room sits a radiant asteroid atop a elevated stage. The map boasts numerous side paths and ample vertical features, making it one of the more effective options among the selection.

Water Hazard

As a gamer, I reach the final level now, titled “Water Hazard,” which is located on the planet of Leviathan. Similar to the previous stage, Shock Risk, this stage appears to take place on an offshore mining rig. However, things have taken a turn for the worse; a monstrous sea creature has wreaked havoc on this installation.

As a gamer, I’d find myself engaged in an intense battle amidst the remains of a slain monster. The area comes alive with captivating details, making every encounter feel unique and immersive.

Based on my extensive experience in cartography and having worked with various mapping systems in Concord, I can confidently say that we currently have a comprehensive collection of maps and modes at our disposal. However, I want to emphasize that this is not an exhaustive list, as new maps and modes may be added in the future, and I vow to keep this page updated with the latest information.
