AMC Theatres has made adjustments to its Stubs A-List rewards program for movies, aiming to transform infrequent moviegoers into more frequent and dedicated patrons.
Starting January 1, 2025, AMC Stubs Insider members who watch 8 Hollywood films or accumulate 5,000 AMC Stubs points within a year will advance to the AMC Stubs Premiere GO! status. This new tier offers similar perks as Premiere GO!, such as no ticket fees and upgrades for larger drink and popcorn servings, without requiring an initial annual membership fee of $17.99.
To boost earnings, large cinemas have traditionally relied on enticing moviegoers back to the theater with rewards programs. Now, AMC aims to attract more audience members by introducing a free loyalty tier to its AMC Stubs program. This new feature will reward frequent movie-goers based on the number of tickets bought or points earned, rather than simply by paying a membership fee.
Starting now, AMC Stubs Premiere GO! provides a thrilling and attainable route for our Insider members to gain additional perks just by watching their favorite films. This new level is our way of expressing gratitude to our loyal fans for their enthusiasm and commitment, while still offering the exceptional value and convenience they’ve come to expect from AMC,” said Ellen Copaken, AMC’s senior vice president of marketing, in a statement released on Thursday.
Individuals attaining the AMC Stubs Premiere GO! level maintain their membership until the end of the current year, plus the subsequent one. This enhanced benefits tier is specifically designed for casual film enthusiasts, aiming to foster frequent returns and strengthen customer devotion by encouraging more repeat visits.
Simultaneously, the exclusive AMC Stubs A-List caters to devoted cinema enthusiasts, offering them the opportunity to watch as many as three films each week across all luxury formats such as IMAX and Dolby Cinema. In addition, this membership provides a wealth of top-tier perks at a single, affordable monthly cost.
