As a lifelong fan of American Dad, I can confidently say that the release of the Greatest Hits album is like finding my long-lost twin brother who happens to be musically gifted and a bit offbeat. The show’s musical segments have always been a highlight for me, and having them all in one place is nothing short of a dream come true.
It’s great news for fans of American Dad that the Smith family won’t be absent during the holiday-packed 2024 TV schedule. If we manage to get on Santa Ricky Spanish’s (wink, wink) naughty list, perhaps we might persuade him to make an appearance. The new season starts close to Halloween, but before that, 20th Century Studios has given us a fantastic way to prepare for Stan’s upcoming adventures: an official American Dad! Greatest Hits album!
As a dedicated viewer of the iconic TV series, which smashed the milestone of 250 episodes in 2020, I can’t help but appreciate the show’s catchy musical segments. They’re not just hilarious like the non-rhythmic jokes, but they often stick in my head for days after an episode airs, much like a persistent fish swimming in a goldfish bowl. In retrospect, I’m glad “Bad, Bad Boy” wasn’t around when I was younger; it would have likely become my go-to Christmas carol!
It’s The Poopiest Callback Gag On TV
Why did the creators of American Dad decide to reintroduce the Golden Turd storyline for their 300th episode, as explained by the showrunner?
Without a doubt, the unveiling of “American Dad! Greatest Hits” is quite significant as many of these tunes were hard to come by on platforms like Spotify and others. 19 tracks brimming with almost universal joy, with just a couple of songs that aren’t quite perfect, but opinions might differ. However, most listeners would agree that this album is “Hot Enough.” It may not contain the album’s standout track, but it certainly meets the standard for a good listen.
American Dad’s GOAT Song: “Daddy’s Gone”
There’s no question that among the original songs from American Dad, none surpasses Steve and Roger’s Boyz II Men-inspired ballad, “Daddy’s Gone.” This song works exceptionally well with its desert-themed visuals, but it can stand alone without them. The track, whether in its remastered form or the original version, is flawless in my opinion. I may not be able to discern an immediate difference between the two versions, but I’m confident that they are equally impressive.

I’m crossing my fingers that we receive a series with multiple episodes centered around Roger being trapped inside Stan, or perhaps another one focusing on the excessive bleaching of a certain body part (let’s just say it’s his lower back area). However, should such stories not materialize, let’s express gratitude to those in charge for bestowing upon us this Greatest Hits compilation instead.
Given that it’s likely to continue airing until 2025, the next season of American Dad will start on Monday, October 28, at 10:00 p.m. ET. You can currently stream all previous seasons with a Disney+ and Hulu subscription.
