As a proud Portland native and longtime fan of Aminé, I can’t help but be thrilled about his latest New Balance collaboration – the BTEE740. This talented artist, who has come a long way since his days at Benson Tech, is not only creating incredible music but also giving back to his alma mater in a meaningful way.
Product Name: New Balance 740v2 with the code BTEE740
This week, as promised, Aminé delivered on his announcement for his upcoming New Balance collaboration. The versatile musician and experienced sneaker designer is now unveiling a version of the New Balance 740v2, which they’ve nicknamed the “BTEE470”. This name pays homage to the high school where Aminé first started his musical journey.
He expressed on Instagram that the Radio KBPS program at Benson Tech was where his musical journey began. In honor of this, he decided to make a generous donation of $25,000 to support the college education expenses of radio program graduates.

The BTEE40 shoe model honors Benson Tech by incorporating its name and distinctive design elements, featuring a bold combination of royal blue and orange colors throughout. “BTEE” is emblazoned on the soles, while additional school insignia adorns both heel caps and the tongue.
The sneakers arrive within a box, which also honors Benson Tech’s Radio KBPS show. Decorated like a computer on the exterior with various stickers, the box boasts a keyboard-style layout inside.
The pamphlet states: “This artist has produced 3 studio albums, 4 mixtapes, and unfortunately lost 2 awards. Yet, they have achieved 11 platinum certifications, dropped out of Penn State University, amassed a staggering 5 billion streams on various platforms, founded their own festival, is revered as a hometown hero, collaborated with 2 artists from N.B., and graduated from Benson.
Peep the sneakers in the gallery above, and expect them to land for purchase on November 1.
