Next year, Jordan Brand plans to mark the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5 with celebrations, and it seems that Awake NY has been chosen to redesign this iconic shape for the occasion. According to preliminary reports from Sneaker Files, the Awake NY collaboration with the Air Jordan 5 is expected to showcase a “Black/Racer Blue-Metallic Silver-White-Clear” color pattern and will be complemented by an entire line of coordinating clothing items.
Currently, there are no authentic images released or leaked of the upcoming products (the image shown is a digitally manipulated prototype), but based on the color scheme, it appears to have a subdued aesthetic with vibrant bursts of colors. If Awake NY’s past footwear collaborations serve as an indicator, these shoes might also feature distinctive branding elements.
This fresh interpretation of Michael Jordan’s fifth signature shoe signifies the third joint project between Awake NY and Jordan Brand. Preceding this, there was a debut white-and-red Air Ship released in March 2024 and an “Air Ship Game Royal” expected to land in early November. Prior to partnering with Jordan Brand, Awake NY had previously collaborated with ASICS, Reebok, and Timberland, and continues to work with Converse as well.
