The ongoing legal dispute between Blake Lively and Jason Baldoni persists, with both parties trading accusations back and forth. Much discussion has centered around the employment, or lack thereof, of an intimacy coordinator during the filming of It Ends With Us. Recently, a professional within that industry has voiced their opinion on the matter and its potential implications.
A recently broadcasted documentary titled “He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni” (as reported by Us Weekly) features insights from Mia Schachter, an intimacy coordinator who has collaborated on shows like “Lessons in Chemistry” (streaming with Apple TV+) and HBO’s “Perry Mason”. According to her, the text exchanges between Lively and Baldoni suggest that they initially had a good rapport. She expressed…
Reading through their texts suggests that they once shared a strong bond, something akin to a heartfelt friendship.
As a movie enthusiast, I’d put it this way: In the making of “It Ends With Us”, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni not only shared an on-screen love story, but they also had significant roles off-camera. Justin directed the film, while Blake stepped up as a producer and even made changes to the script. It was a double act that added depth to this box office success.
In her lawsuit against Baldoni, Lively argues that during the production of It Ends With Us, there were instances where an intimacy coordinator was not present on set and that Baldoni altered the most intimate scenes. Baldoni has responded with messages indicating that Lively refused to meet with the intimacy coordinator prior to filming.
Schachter argues that the cast at the time might have been different due to the unique relationship between Lively and Baldoni, which evolved differently compared to their future dynamics. She clarified:
From what I’ve observed, when an actor claims they won’t meet the intimacy coordinator until filming begins, although it complicates my understanding, it often suggests they have confidence in their scene partner. Texts like these led me to believe that at some point, she may have felt a strong sense of trust towards him.
Indeed, even though Lively may have trusted Baldoni initially, it’s plausible that their relationship evolved negatively at some later stage. Currently, Lively is taking legal action against Baldoni for alleged sexual harassment. In response, Baldoni has filed a countersuit accusing Lively of defamation, as well as the New York Times and Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds. Baldoni claims that Reynolds used the “Nicepool” character from Deadpool & Wolverine to mock him.
It appears that these matters might only find resolution through a legal process. Yet, the trial isn’t set for this year, leaving room for potential changes or developments over this period.
