Ana De Armas Just Used Four Adjectives To Describe Ballerina, And Now I Really Can’t Wait To See The John Wick’s Spinoff’s First Trailer

As a seasoned gamer with years of action-packed movie marathons under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming spinoff of the John Wick franchise, Ballerina, has me more than just intrigued. With Ana de Armas herself describing it as “dangerous,” “sexy,” and “very John Wick,” I’m on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating the first trailer.

Despite some ambiguity about the continuation of the main John Wick movie series following the events in John Wick: Chapter 4, it’s clear that the franchise isn’t fading away. Coming next is Ballerina, a spinoff starring Ana de Armas, set between the third and fourth John Wick films, scheduled for summer release in 2025. The actress who starred in Knives Out and No Time to Die has hinted at the first spinoff movie with only four words, which has me even more excited to catch its trailer.

Ana De Armas talked about her upcoming film “Ballerina” during her visit to the Toronto International Film Festival for the promotion of her historical drama “Eden,” which currently doesn’t have a release date. Initially apprehensive when she found out that “Ballerina” required additional filming, she now feels assured that these new scenes will enhance the movie, as she told Collider: “I was concerned at first, but I believe these additional scenes only make the movie better.

Everything filmed during those retakes turned out to be essential, as we captured fantastic footage that’s truly awe-inspiring. A trailer is set to debut shortly, and I’ve had a sneak peek – it’s stunning! I’m incredibly proud of it and can hardly wait for everyone to see it. It’s action-packed, sensual, and undeniably reminiscent of John Wick. I have no doubt that people will be pleasantly surprised by the final product. While my bias may influence me, I genuinely believe this movie is going to blow audiences away!

“Stunning,” thrilling, potentially risky, and captivating – along with a strong resemblance to John Wick, the character. I was already keen on watching Ballerina in cinemas, but Ana de Armas’ recent remarks about the action film have only intensified my anticipation. Although we won’t likely see the first trailer until early 2025 since Ballerina is set to release next summer, patience often leads to rewarding experiences.

In a twist of events, a character portrayed by Ana de Armas takes on the role of Rooney, a ballerina who was initially played by Unity Phelan in “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum”. Interestingly, this crossover scene is not her first appearance in the franchise. The storyline revolves around Rooney seeking retribution against those responsible for her family’s demise, employing assassin skills similar to Keanu Reeves’ John Wick. Notably, Reeves will reprise his role, fittingly given the film’s position within the franchise’s timeline. Veterans Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, and Lance Reddick (in his final screen appearance) are also part of the ensemble cast. The newcomers in “Ballerina” include Gabriel Byrne, Catalonia Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and David Castañeda.

Under the guidance of Len Wiseman and scripted by Shay Hatten, the movie titled “Ballerina” will be released on June 6, 2025. At present, the first three installments of “John Wick” can be streamed on fuboTV, while “Chapter 4” is exclusively on Starz. Fortunately, you can access both platforms as an additional benefit to your Hulu subscription.
