Ananya Panday opens up on finding it hard to express herself while feeling low; ‘I start crying immediately'

As an ardent follower of Bollywood and mental health awareness advocate, I find Ananya Panday’s candidness about her struggles with self-expression truly commendable. Her vulnerability, particularly in discussing how she copes with stress by retreating when things get tough, resonates deeply with me as someone who often finds solace in isolation during challenging times.

During her conversation with director Vikramaditya Motwane, Ananya Panday admitted that she sometimes struggles to articulate her feelings. As they delved into their respective careers, love lives, their thriller film, and the influence of social media, they also touched upon the topic of mental health. They shared insights on how they cope with negative emotions when they’re feeling low or upset.

During an episode on We Are Yuvaa’s YouTube channel, Ananya Panday and Vikramaditya Motwane had a chat about various topics including their personal lives, social media, and more. In a fun game, Ananya picked a card that asked them to reveal how they express themselves when feeling down. The actress from Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan admitted she finds it difficult to express herself as she starts crying right away.

This is why she thinks that stepping away from that situation is an ideal thing to do. The young actress also stated that in the moment, she also wants everything solved and this is why she hates stepping away. But every time she has done it, it has always ended better. “So, I should be doing that,” she quipped. Responding to the same question, the filmmaker stated that he tries not to be as instinctive because his instinct is to get nasty, find fault, and get angry. Hence, when he is feeling down, he will take a break or probably go for a walk, watch or read something, or “try and switch off for a little bit” and then try to address the issue.

When speaking with PTI about CTRL, a platform critiquing social media, Ananya Panday acknowledged she might temporarily step away due to its impact on her mental health. She explained that as part of promoting her movie, she’s been actively posting content, but feels the need for a digital detox because it can be harmful for one’s wellbeing. Simultaneously, in her professional life, Panday is engrossed in filming her upcoming project, Shankara.
