And Just Like That Just Killed Off The Same Character Twice, Or Did They?

Spoilers ahead for the most recent episode of And Just Like That.

Sex and The City, produced by HBO, sparked conversations and has continued to influence popular culture over the years. We’re now in Season 3 of its spinoff titled And Just Like That, which can be streamed with a Max subscription. Recently, viewers speculated about a potential continuity mistake concerning the death of Lisa Todd Wexley’s father (portrayed by Billy Dee Williams), and we finally have an official clarification on the matter.

The third season of “And Just Like That” has been quite the rollercoaster ride, and much like before, it seems to generate buzz – even among those who can’t help but watch critically. In the latest episode, Nicole Ari Parker’s character LTW experienced the loss of her father, a character we saw in Season 2. However, following this episode’s airing, viewers were reminded of a similar loss discussed by LTW back in Season 1. During a conversation between Lisa and Charlotte about Big’s death, LTW offered:

I was exactly the same when my father died last year.

In Season 2, Billy Dee Williams appeared as Lisa’s father, but his death in the series later on left viewers momentarily perplexed because, as far as we knew from Season 1 of “And Just Like That,” her father had already passed away before the story unfolded.

Following its widespread online dissemination, Entertainment Weekly eventually conducted an investigation to determine whether the reference to “Lisa” in Season 1 was a mistake due to oversight or careless writing. According to their report, the individual Lisa was referring to was actually her stepfather. Consequently, the show didn’t require any revisions (retconning) or have any continuity issues. Interesting!

You can watch ‘And Just Like That’ exclusively on MAX. For the Ad-supported plan, it costs $9.99 per month. Moreover, there are three different tiers to choose from after subscribing to MAX. If you prefer, you can also opt for a yearly subscription and enjoy savings of up to 20%.”

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my surprise and disbelief as each new episode of And Just Like That unfolds, particularly for those of us long-time viewers who cherish these characters deeply. The recent speculation about the show killing off a character not once, but twice has certainly sparked a heated debate on social media platforms. Whether or not this theory provides a satisfying explanation is yet to be determined among fans.

In simpler terms, even though some people are negatively engaged with the series “And Just Like That,” they’re still tuning in, which means the show is gaining popularity. It remains to be seen if the creators or Michael Patrick King address the misunderstanding about Lisa Todd Wexley’s father.

Indeed, there’s much speculation about whether Kim Cattrall will reprise her role as Samantha Jones in Season 3. Viewers were delighted when she made a brief appearance in Season 2 via a phone call, and so far, the character has been shown texting Carrie consistently throughout the latest episodes.

On Thursdays, you can catch the latest episodes of “And Just Like That” streaming on Max, a part of the 2025 television launch lineup. Will we witness any characters meeting their untimely end twice, only to return? Only time will tell!
