Andaaz actress Kunickaa Sadanand claims dating Kumar Sanu, reveals ‘His wife smashed my car with a hockey stick’

Kumar Sanu is a highly acclaimed Indian vocalist known for his numerous popular songs from the 90s which continue to be timeless. More recently, Kunickaa Sadanand asserted that she had a romantic relationship with the singer in the 1990s. In addition, the actress disclosed an incident where Kumar Sanu’s wife at the time destroyed her car using a hockey stick as a way to express her displeasure towards them.

In an open conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Kunickaa Sadanand disclosed additional insights about her connection with Kumar Sanu. She mentioned that they first crossed paths during a filming session in Ooty when she was just starting out in showbiz. At the time, Kumar was holidaying at the mountain retreat with his sister and nephew, and it was there that Kunickaa forged a strong friendship with him.

The actress asserted that the Aashiqui singer was facing a tough period in his personal life and had once considered jumping out of a hotel window while intoxicated. Fortunately, he was prevented from doing so and held as he wept over his troubles. This incident apparently strengthened their bond. Following their trip, Sadanand stated that Sanu was living apart from his former wife Rita. Over the course of five years, it seems the actress developed a strong relationship with him.

Pondering over their bond, she remarked, “In every sense, I functioned as his wife. To me, he was my husband.” Moreover, she disclosed that it was her who encouraged him to focus on his health and style, particularly during his most successful professional period.

In the throes of my fandom, I found myself caught up in a turbulent turn of events when the singer’s wife, Rita, was enraged due to a delay in the financial assistance for her children. This delay led Rita, as the Andaaz actress herself confessed, to vent her frustration by damaging my car in a fit of anger one day.

Kunickaa stated, “My car was damaged by his wife using a hockey stick. She often appeared at my doorstep, shouting loudly. However, I empathized with her situation. She was seeking financial help for her kids; she wasn’t entirely in the wrong. She declared that she had no intention of returning to him.

Regardless of their previous relationship, Kunickaa and Kumar Sanu eventually went separate paths. Later on, Kumar Sanu wed Saloni and together they share two lovely daughters.
