As a seasoned moviegoer with decades of cinema-watching under my belt, I find myself intrigued by the upcoming Diwali clash between Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The prospect of having two highly anticipated films vying for our attention is a double edged sword; on one hand, the excitement is palpable, but on the other, the tension between the distributors and producers trying to avert this clash is reminiscent of a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game.
This coming Diwali, Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are set to face off at the box office. However, the eagerness of fans for this double treat has left distributors and producers in a bind as they work diligently to avoid a collision. In an interview with Mid-day, BB3 director Anees Bazmee expressed his disapproval of such clashes, acknowledging that he had announced the release date earlier, but is powerless to change the situation.
Bazmee clarified that he was not personally involved in discussing the release date of “Singham Again” with Ajay Devgn. Instead, it’s a matter for the producers to decide, as he is only the director. The team behind “Singham Again” has expressed their desire for a Diwali release, but Bazmee acknowledges that clashing releases are generally not beneficial. Despite previously announcing the release date of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” a year in advance, he admits there’s little they can do about it now.
The filmmaker expressed his opinion that a great movie doesn’t rely on a specific time to be effective, and he is definitely not the one who pays attention to box office earnings and release dates. In Singham Again, Anees has two of his dearest coworkers making guest appearances – Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. Bazmee has worked with Devgn on movies like Hulchul, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, and Deewangee.
Contrastingly, Akshay Kumar has collaborated with the director on films such as Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Welcome (2007), Singh Is Kinng, and Thank You (2011). Undeterred by the scheduling conflict, Bazmee commented, “Both movies seem promising, so they could both fare well at the box office. Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Rohit Shetty are close friends. They trust Anees (director) wouldn’t ask us to alter our film’s release date. I’ve never done that myself. Each movie follows its own path.
On the occasion of Diwali, two movies are set to release, each featuring multiple prominent actors. In “Singham Again,” you’ll see Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor in significant roles, with special appearances from Akshay, Ajay, and Ranveer, who have previously been part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. In contrast, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” stars Kartik Aaryan alongside Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, and Triptii Dimri. The anticipation among distributors is unusually high due to these multi-starrer productions.
