Animal: Bobby Deol reveals he initially felt ‘not needed’ in Ranbir Kapoor led film; says they were shooting with star 'for a long time’

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the nuances of Hollywood and Bollywood, I must say that Bobby Deol’s journey with Animal is nothing short of inspiring. His patience, resilience, and willingness to step out of his comfort zone are qualities that make him a true artist.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m here to share some fascinating insights from the world of entertainment. I recently found myself deeply moved by Bobby Deol’s outstanding portrayal in the film “Animal,” alongside the talented Ranbir Kapoor. It turns out that Bobby had an unusual journey with this project – he waited a substantial 1.5 years to film his part!

In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Bobby candidly discussed his emotions as he prepared to film his role. He revealed the apprehensions he felt during the lengthy wait before production began for the movie Animal. Given that the film’s creation took a significant amount of time, he was concerned that he might no longer be required. In his own words, “I had waited 1.5 years to start filming this movie. The movie is 3.5 hours long, so they were working with Ranbir for a considerable period. During that time, I often wondered, ‘Could they change their minds? Might they suddenly tell me they no longer need my services?’

Instead, Bobby acknowledged Sandeep Reddy’s kindness and praised him. He also shared that he learned sign language specifically for this role and found joy in the movie’s success, which turned out to be a surprise cult hit. Though he hadn’t anticipated such widespread acclaim, he felt intuitively that it held great potential.

Deol revealed that he got a message supposedly from Vanga, who then identified himself and showed enthusiasm about meeting him for a movie project. At first, Deol was hesitant whether it was truly the person he suspected. Once they confirmed the meeting, Vanga sent Bobby a photo of himself from his time in the Celebrity Cricket League and explained that he wanted to cast Deol because he admired the emotion captured in the image.

At first, Bobby Deol was uncertain about playing a silent character, but he decided to seize the opportunity to push beyond his comfort zone. He revealed this when someone mentioned that his part would require him to be mute. Initially, he had worries since he considered his voice as one of his strong points. Nevertheless, he opted to accept the role despite his apprehensions.
