- Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is out now for iOS and Android
- It serves as the definitive, offline version of the original Pocket Camp
- You’ll still be able to meet with other campers, albeit in more limited fashion
As a veteran gamer who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless mobile games, I must say that the release of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete feels like a breath of fresh air. After the initial disappointment when we heard about the closure of the original game, it’s heartening to see Nintendo not only keeping their promise but also making it even better!
As a fellow gamer, I couldn’t hide my excitement when I learned that the closure of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was merely a rumor. It seems Nintendo had heard our pleas loud and clear, and true to their word, they’ve made Pocket Camp playable offline! And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, they’ve dropped the “Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete” on us today! So, pack up your tents and let’s continue building our dream campsites!
Essentially, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is similar to the original Pocket Camp, but it’s designed for offline play. This means you won’t require any in-app purchases or a constant internet connection. Additionally, you can still interact with other players in a new area called Whisper Pass, sharing stories and the newly introduced Camper Cards.
One way to rephrase this in a more natural and easy-to-understand manner is: Fortunately, you won’t need to begin anew because Pocket Camp Complete, despite being a separate game, will allow for save transfers. Additionally, you’ll discover alternative methods of earning Leaf Tokens, along with other exciting features that were previously exclusive to the Pocket Camp Club Monthly Subscription.
Beyond the end
Although there are some problems with how Pocket Camp concluded, I think receiving the Complete edition could be considered a fairly satisfying resolution. Compared to many other games, having an offline, fully-featured (plus extra features) version of the original is quite exceptional.
On one hand, it’s a continuous discussion whether online-only games can last long and if they do, it’s due to the kindness of the developers who keep them running. Isn’t that something worth pondering?
In any case, the world of mobile phones is ever-changing. Want to stay ahead of the curve? Well then, why not check in on our own new feature, Ahead of the Game (see what I did there?) and our latest topic of discussion with Mistland Saga.
