Members of the Grosse Pointe Garden Society are reacting to the show’s cancellation.
On Friday, it became known that NBC decided not to renew the crime drama for another season following its initial run. At first, NBCUniversal had thought about moving the series created by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs over to Peacock, but an agreement could not be reached.
In the television series titled “Grosse Pointe Garden Society“, actresses AnnaSophia Robb, Melissa Fumero, Ben Rappaport, and Aja Naomi King portrayed a close-knit group of garden club members. Their bond deepened when they were entangled in a murder mystery. Following the show’s unfortunate cancellation, both Robb, Fumero, and Rappaport took to Instagram to express their feelings about it.
Robb posted a photo on her Instagram Story of the main four cast members from the show, captioned, “Wow, I’ll really miss our GPGS family. I am thankful and proud of everything we accomplished together.” She followed up by sharing a video on her Stories from set, expressing gratitude to the rest of the cast and crew, writing, “We truly had an exceptional team. Thank you for making it a truly extraordinary experience. It’s a blessing to do what you love, and an even greater one to work with kind, skilled, and enjoyable individuals.
Fumero expressed a touching homage to her character, Birdie, on Instagram, saying, “Oh, Birdie, you were truly unforgettable.

She felt as if she embodied every character she’d ever portrayed in this job. There are countless aspects I’ll miss about it, but what I’ll miss most is the extraordinary community of people it brought into my life. I won’t miss the shoes, though. Working on a show is incredibly challenging, and maintaining it can be even harder. Yet, I’m immensely proud of what we achieved together. Thank you for tuning in.
Rappaport also posted on Instagram to mark the end of the Grosse Pointe Garden Society, stating, “I’ve expressed this before and I’ll say it again – show business isn’t for the weak-hearted. Unfortunately, our cherished Grosse Pointe Garden Society was canceled today. I’m going to really miss collaborating with these incredible people every day. This was a unique project.

The show initially debuted on Sunday in February, but later moved to Friday nights with the aim of increasing viewership. However, despite an increase in its audience following the change, Grosse Pointe Garden Society still struggled and averaged fewer than 2 million viewers per episode during the season in Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings, making it NBC’s least-watched regular series.
