As a seasoned gamer and avid reader of thriller novels, I can hardly contain my excitement for Anne Hathaway starring in Amazon MGM Studios’ adaptation of Colleen Hoover‘s ‘Verity’. With Michael Showalter at the helm, this film promises to be a gripping tale that will keep me on the edge of my seat.
Actress Anne Hathaway will take the lead role in Amazon MGM Studio’s movie adaptation of the suspenseful novel “Verity,” written by Colleen Hoover.
Michael Showalter is set to helm the upcoming movie, which is slated for a cinema debut. Nick Antosca has crafted the present screenplay based on the earlier scripts by writers Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, and the duo of Will Honley and April Maguire.
The story revolves around struggling author Lowen Ashleigh, who is employed to finish the incomplete series written by Jeremy Crawford’s wife, Verity Crawford (Hathaway), following her unexplained accident. As time goes on, Lowen discovers that an undisclosed, unfinished manuscript might hold vital information about the family’s history.
In this production, Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund are the producers for Eat the Cat, while Showalter and Jordana Mollick serve as producers for Semi-Formal Productions. Somewhere Pictures is led by Hathaway, Heartbones Entertainment is helmed by Hoover, and Stacey Sher takes charge for Shiny Penny. Executive production duties are handled by Lauren Levine from Heartbones Entertainment.
Colleen Hoover, the writer of this summer’s blockbuster “It Ends With Us,” first self-published “Verity” in 2018. Later, Grand Central Publishing bought it in 2021. Subsequently, “Verity” climbed to the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
Earlier, The Hollywood Reporter announced plans for an adaptation of “Verity”. Meanwhile, another book by Hoover, titled “Regretting You”, is seeing an independent film adaptation with actors such as Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, and Mason Thames attached to the project.
Showalter previously directed Hathaway in Amazon’s The Idea of You.
