The parents Todd and Julie Chrisley, formerly known for their show on USA Network titled Chrisley Knows Best, are currently serving time in prison during their second Christmas, due to charges of bank fraud and tax evasion. Just a few weeks into the new year, another family member from the reality TV sphere found themselves incarcerated as well: their son Chase Chrisley, who stands accused of assaulting a bar manager by slapping him and using a chair as a weapon.
On Thursday, January 9th, according to TMZ, Chase Chrisley was taken into custody due to an altercation that occurred at a Twin Peaks bar in Georgia earlier in the week. He was detained in Fulton County Jail on charges of simple battery and reportedly had his mugshot taken. He was granted bail set at $10,000 and released from custody.
On January 6th, a call to emergency services was made by Brendon Nash, manager of Twin Peaks, as per audio obtained by TMZ. Nash reportedly stated that an intoxicated and violent individual had attacked him using a chair. He is heard warning someone not to approach him, and later claimed that the suspected person – presumably Chase Chrisley – had just struck him. The individual then departed from the bar and was apprehended several days afterwards.
The Chrisley family has been quite transparent about the challenges they’ve faced in their parents’ absence. Savannah Chrisley, in particular, has expressed her feelings on her podcast Unlocked, making it clear that this isn’t an easy time for her. Moreover, with another family member dealing with legal troubles, things might be even more difficult. It’s hard not to ponder about Todd and Julie’s emotions, given the circumstances, although it seems there’s little they can do to assist their son at this point.
Chase Chrisley is Todd Chrisley’s eldest child, born to Julie; he has two older siblings, Lindsie and Kyle, from Todd’s previous marriage to Teresa Terry. From 2014 to 2023, when it was taken off the air due to Todd and Julie’s legal troubles, Chase was a cast member on “Chrisley Knows Best.” Alongside his younger sister Savannah, aged 27, he also starred in the spinoff “Growing Up Chrisley,” which debuted in 2019 and ran for four seasons before both shows were canceled. Both series are available to stream with a Peacock subscription.
In 2023, it became known that a new series for the Chrisley family was being developed. According to Chase, this show would delve into their daily lives without their parents and provide updates on Todd and Julie’s circumstances, as well as other family members. However, following Savannah Chrisley’s unmasking as an Afghan Hound on The Masked Singer in March 2024, she hinted that the future of this project was uncertain.
In 2022, Chase Chrisley shared insights about the impact of his parents’ guilty verdict on Savannah’s podcast. Although he acknowledged that they were enduring a deeply difficult time, he also expressed a heightened gratitude for various aspects of life. He stated:
This experience has led me to spend a considerable amount of time contemplating my identity now and the person I aspire to become over the next decade, then another ten years after that, and so on for the following decade as well.
It appears quite clear that being arrested following a supposed brawl at a bar wasn’t part of the ten-year plan for Chase, but it seems like he, along with other members of the Chrisley family, are still grappling with the aftermath of their recent hardships.
