Anrealage SS25 Bubbles, Blossoms and Blows Up

As a seasoned gamer and fashion enthusiast with a penchant for the avant-garde, I found ANREALAGE’s Spring 2025 collection to be nothing short of a breathtaking spectacle. The fusion of function and fantasy, as exemplified by the handheld fans and inflatable garments, resonated deeply with my gaming sensibilities – after all, who doesn’t love a good power-up?

ANREALAGE extended kindness to its Spring 2025 show attendees at Paris’ Palais de Tokyo on Tuesday by providing handy fans as a thoughtful token, especially since keeping cool during fashion week can be a challenge. However, this small gesture also hinted at the airy collection that designer Kunihiko Morinaga had carefully crafted for the upcoming warm seasons.

Titled “WIND,” the design was exaggerated and oversized across the entire piece. In true fashion, the brand employed a significant amount of wind-inspired force to amplify its bold and commanding shapes, collaborating with KUCHOFUKU, a Japanese innovator in cooling functional apparel. However large they may seem, these inflated pieces were crafted using incredibly light nylon fabrics, barely weighing 23 grams per square meter.

Windbreaker jackets, both wind-powered and protective in design, transform into billowing thermal armor with just a click of a button. Similarly, puffer coats, turtleneck tops, bow-shaped garments, and tubular skirts expand effortlessly, shielding against natural elements while maintaining a playful aesthetic. At the end, avant-garde sculptural designs underscore that ANREALAGE’s creations are as much art as they are practical wear.

Blossoming into shapes reminiscent of clouds, the SS25 manifesto by ANREALAGE focused on stimulating creativity through Morinaga’s unique fusion of fashion and technology. Remember their pioneering UV light-activated garments for Fall 2023, which were later adapted for Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour? The brand’s newest creations might not be practical for everyday wear, but that’s not the intention. Instead, this groundbreaking label aims to deliver an impactful and voluminous statement, rather than realism.
