Outside of his work hours, the “Twisted Metal” actor enjoys his less-familiar surroundings too, frequently visiting his hometown of New Orleans, where he’s less likely to be recognized than in the bustling city of Hollywood.

Mackie shared, “I’m not one who craves attention. I value the backing I receive. I value being acknowledged for my efforts, if you will. However, it’s important to understand that social anxiety is a genuine issue. As a result, when things get too overwhelming, I tend to retreat and seek comfort in familiar surroundings where people look after me. There, I find peace by sitting quietly in the corner, often shielding myself with an umbrella.

As a gamer, I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of numerous productions spanning my career, with my breakthrough coming in the 2002 movie “8 Mile.” Later on, I got the chance to suit up as Sam Wilson/Falcon in various Marvel flicks before stepping into the Captain America role.
