As a long-time Marvel fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for Captain America: Brave New World! The recent hints about the Hulk’s appearance have me buzzing with anticipation, especially since it seems Anthony Mackie might have accidentally spilled the beans.
It seems that Anthony Mackie, starring as Captain America in the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World” next year, may have unwittingly followed Tom Holland’s lead by disclosing a potential cameo appearance in the film during an interview.
During my conversation with EW, Mackie subtly suggested that the Hulk might appear in the movie. Although Harrison Ford portrays Red Hulk and has been prominently displayed in promotional materials, it wasn’t clear if Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk would also be featured.
Mackie stated that the occurrences and film of Hulk have no connection to this movie whatsoever. If he appears in any capacity, it won’t be Red Hulk; I mean the other Hulk, as there are several Hulks. When he does appear, his realm, his narrative, is entirely distinct from ours.
Mackie’s change from “if” to “when” suggests a strong likelihood that Ruffalo will be featured in the film. Although it could just be a jest, there are indications that the Hulk might make an appearance at some stage. For instance, Ruffalo once hinted at being in “Captain America: Brave New World,” but later admitted he may have made a mistake.
Captain America: Brave New World’s Wider MCU Connections
As a longtime Marvel fan who has been following the Hulk’s storyline for over two decades, I must say that I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World film. The announcement of the return of multiple plot points and characters from The Incredible Hulk is music to my ears.
In addition to delving into other aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Brave New World” will provide some closure on storylines introduced in last year’s “The Eternals”. A significant aspect is the return of the colossal Celestial that was submerged in the Pacific Ocean, hinted at in the trailer. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this plot development, and it marks the first time Marvel has connected “The Eternals” with another film in their universe.
Mackie’s possible mistake serves as a humorous jab, given his history of playfully ribbing Tom Holland, who is known for accidentally revealing movie details. Holland has admitted to receiving blacked-out scripts from Marvel Studios as a precaution. Notably, Mark Ruffalo also famously leaked the ending of “Avengers: Infinity War” by stating “everyone dies,” although at that time, people didn’t take him seriously.
