The upcoming Marvel film, titled “Captain America: Brave New World,” is the most recent one scheduled to be released. Starring Anthony Mackie, this movie will find Sam Wilson tackling a large-scale conspiracy and facing off against the Red Hulk. Fans are eagerly awaiting this release in 2025, although there have been whispers about possible extensive reshoots for the film. Despite such speculation surrounding the production process, Mackie has gracefully addressed these concerns while also expressing his thoughts on the completed movie.
It’s said that the production for “Captain America: Brave New World,” under the guidance of director Julius Onah, commenced in March 2023. Filming concluded in June, following the onset of the 2023 WGA Writers Strike. By December of the same year, it was announced that alterations would be made to “Cap 4,” involving new scenes and content being penned. As part of these changes, Giancarlo Esposito was cast in an undisclosed role. (He later confirmed his portrayal of Serpent Society leader Sidewinder.)
Among fans on social media, there’s a widespread belief that the movie underwent numerous changes because it wasn’t meeting expectations. However, Disney’s superhero studio hasn’t confirmed or denied this claim. During an interview with Esquire, Anthony Mackie addressed the reshoots. When responding, he referenced how many big-budget films have been produced in recent years.
All movies produced by Marvel, DC, or any other studio like Star Wars, Star Trek, or Disney have undergone additional filming (reshoots).
It’s true that many big-budget movies require reshoots, and this is something we’ve seen a lot with films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, some of these blockbusters had extra scenes filmed, and it seems Marvel has made reshoots a part of their production process. However, reshoots can be both beneficial and detrimental; for instance, actor Seth Rollins reportedly had his role reduced during changes, but Anthony Mackie remains optimistic about the movie.
As a passionate cinephile, I can confidently say that this film truly maximizes its potential, maintaining the distinctive Marvel flavor while channeling the spirit of Captain America. It’s not only engaging but also grand in scale, making for an exhilarating cinematic experience.

Marvel Movies In Order: How To Watch The MCU By Release Date And Chronologically
In several aspects, the fourth “Cap” movie stands as a significant milestone for the main actor of “Twisted Metal.” Firstly, it’s his first time leading a film in this extensive IP since he debuted as Sam Wilson in 2014. Additionally, he shares a unique role with Scarlett Johansson as an MCU actor who also produces an installment of this series. As such, Anthony Mackie is understandably proud of the project, and has even spoken out against attempts to politicize the film.
At the moment, reviews on the movie “Brave New World” haven’t been released yet, but you can look forward to them along with full critiques within the next fortnight since the film is almost ready for release. Ultimately, your opinion about it after watching it will be most significant. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Anthony Mackie and the team have produced something remarkable, and I hope the reshoots have helped create a movie as “grand” and “entertaining” as the star himself promises.
