More recently, Anupam Kher uploaded a photo on Instagram showing him alongside Mahesh Bhatt, who commemorated 40 years of Saaransh by presenting him with a poster and affectionately labeling Kher as the “marathon man of Bollywood.” Additionally, he posted a letter from his initial director, which was filled with heartfelt compliments.

Mahesh Bhatt reminisced about casting Anupam Kher in Saaransh and praised his acting skills. In addition, the director noted that Kher refused to let Saaransh define his career and instead continued to progress, earning more success in the years to follow. Bhatt also expressed admiration for Kher’s enduring passion for acting, as he is still actively working even 40 years after his debut at age 69. In the caption, Anupam Kher expressed that photographs don’t always convey every emotion. He stated, “What is visible is my joy at receiving this from my guru, friend, philosopher, and guide, Mahesh Bhatt Saab, who congratulated me for completing 40 years in the Indian film industry! Over the years, I have been blessed with a great deal of love for my work. However, today, I feel that I have received the highest honor.

In addition to what’s captured in the image, he added, “This scene doesn’t show the cascade of tears that flowed as this moment unfolded. It doesn’t reveal my feelings, nor does it depict how Bhatt Saab’s act of love and kindness left me utterly overpowered, evoking a flood of memories. As I read his heartfelt words for me, I found myself unable to speak, and instead, I sat there, holding his hand in deep gratitude.

Kher shared that it was Mahesh Bhatt who helped him establish himself as an actor, and he thanked the director for his mentorship and encouragement. “I owe him a debt I can never repay because he made me believe in myself… THANK YOU BHATT SAAB!” said Kher.
