As a humble admirer of art and politics alike, I found Anupam Kher’s journey to portraying Dr. Manmohan Singh in “The Accidental Prime Minister” not only fascinating but also deeply moving. His struggle to balance the physical aspects with the essence of the man he was portraying resonated with me profoundly as an artist myself.
As a lifestyle expert looking back at history, I can tell you that on December 26, 2024, India bade farewell to its former esteemed Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. In the days that followed, our nation was filled with sorrow and reflection as we honored his memory, along with celebrities from every corner of our vast land.
Anupam Kher posted a video on Instagram reflecting on the late Dr. Manmohan Singh. In this video, he discusses Singh’s character and their encounter. When discussing portraying Dr. Manmohan Singh on-screen, Kher mentioned, “It was challenging to bring this character to life since I could capture the physical attributes but didn’t want to distort his persona into a mere caricature.

As an ardent admirer, I’m compelled to express my heartfelt thoughts: The 69-year-old actor hailed the late ex-prime minister as remarkably honest, a brilliant economist, and incredibly humble. In my view, he was genuinely a good soul. His personal integrity was unquestionable, his economic acumen exceptional, and his humility striking. Some might argue that he wasn’t a shrewd politician, but I see him as a man of integrity above all else. My deepest sympathies go out to his family during this difficult time.
