AP Dhillon claims rejecting offers to sing movie songs and be in them for 2 years: ‘I don’t want to be like the other sheep’

As a devoted follower of the enigmatic AP Dhillon, I find myself captivated by his unwavering commitment to his artistry and principles. The Brown Munde singer’s refusal to compromise, even when faced with lucrative offers from Bollywood, is nothing short of inspiring.

In contemporary times, Indo-Canadian musician AP Dhillon has gained widespread recognition, particularly for hits such as Brown Munde, Excuses, and With You. This year, he worked with Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt on his song Old Money. Lately, AP Dhillon has expressed his stance against commercializing his music, rejecting numerous film offers. The singer behind Brown Munde explained that he aims to avoid conformity with the masses.

In a YouTube podcast conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, AP Dhillon disclosed that he declined offers to sing in films. He explained, “I was given opportunities to act in movies and produce soundtracks as far back as two years ago. However, for the past two years, I’ve been turning down these offers and consciously severing ties with the industry. I simply don’t wish to follow the same path as everyone else.

Apart from discussing authenticity in art and not needing additional publicity, AP Dhillon clarified his stance on film work. He stated that it isn’t necessarily a negative venture from a business standpoint but admitted he has reservations about it. He explained that while actors and directors receive payment in films, the management of their business can occasionally clash with his own personal preferences.

In a recent chat, I, being a die-hard fan, learned something truly exciting! The one and only AP Dhillon shared that he’s been busy crafting a Hindi track – but it’s not for a movie soundtrack. Instead, he’s focusing on maintaining the artistic integrity of his music by avoiding the film industry at the moment, as he doesn’t want to commodify his art.

On December 21, 2024, AP Dhillon shared the stage with singer Karan Aujla during his performance in Mumbai. Notable attendees included actors Vicky Kaushal and Parineeti Chopra. This event took place amidst a controversy between AP Dhillon and Punjabi music star, Diljit Dosanjh, over accusations of being blocked on social media. While Diljit expressed support for AP Dhillon and Karan Aujla’s tour, the Old Money singer countered by asking to be unblocked on Instagram first.
