The company, Respawn, has faced additional job cuts and abandoned projects. However, the team is determined to enhance their popular title, Apex Legends (a battle royale game), and contribute to the upcoming installment of the Star Wars: Jedi series.
As reported on social media by Respawn, they’ve scrapped two early-stage projects, possibly new ideas or concepts. Additionally, team members from the Apex Legends and Star Wars: Jedi teams were let go.
The specific amount of employees affected by the layoffs remains undisclosed. Nevertheless, Respawn has declared their intention to provide substantial assistance to those impacted, along with the chance to investigate potential roles within Electronic Arts.
Despite the triumph of Star Wars: Jedi and Apex Legends’ steady success in a congested free-to-play market, Respawn Entertainment has struggled to diversify its offerings by launching numerous unsuccessful projects in recent times.
For quite some time now, whispers about Titanfall 3 have been recurring on social networks. Recently, Respawn Entertainment disclosed the termination of an earlier side project, initially intended as a multiplayer first-person shooter game. Whether this canceled project was connected to Titanfall is still unclear.

In reference to the year 2024, it was revealed that the developers had canceled a first-person game based on “The Mandalorian.” This game was initially unveiled in 2022 as one of several new Star Wars projects that Respawn Entertainment was set to manage.
Among them, the strategy game created by Bit Reactor, titled Star Wars: Zero Company, which was formally unveiled earlier this year, is one we hope to eventually play.
