As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless virtual adventures, I must admit, the real-life escapades of celebrities sometimes feel like another level of immersion. The latest news about Tom Cruise and Victoria Canal is a fascinating twist in their off-screen narrative.
Tom Cruise’s upcoming movie, “Mission: Impossible 8,” has been in development for quite some time. Despite this, it’s surprising that people don’t often visit the set, especially not Mr. Cruise himself. This is why it was quite a surprise when he recently brought a female singer to the set.
At the Glastonbury Festival in June, I ran into singer Victoria Canal, and since then, they’ve joined me a few times. Intriguingly, it seems to be Canal who accompanied Tom Cruise at the Twisters premiere, standing by his side as he supported his co-star Glen Powell in the promotion of Top Gun: Maverick. They were spotted together again in London, having arrived at the premiere by helicopter.
According to a source within the circle, they’ve been quite “inextricably linked,” extending even to the filming of “Mission: Impossible 8.” This unexpected bond was observed by those on set.
Tom extended an invitation to Victoria, asking her to join him for an entire day as he filmed, which isn’t an offer he typically extends to casual acquaintances.
It’s not uncommon for friends, relatives, or significant others to visit a movie set, but according to an insider speaking to The Sun, Tom Cruise’s recent action was deemed “unusual” and seemingly out of the ordinary. Considering the intense focus required during long days of filming scenes like motorcycle jumps off mountains or train wrecks, this behavior isn’t entirely unexpected.
Victoria Canal, age 25, hasn’t been too secretive about her connections with Tom Cruise. In fact, she posted a photo after he invited her to a suite to watch Bruce Springsteen perform. It’s always intriguing to learn about celebrity encounters and their interactions. Although it’s not clear yet what the nature of their relationship is, they are said to get along famously – like a house ablaze with friendship, but the details of their connection remain undefined at this point.

Experiencing the filming set of a Mission: Impossible movie is an extraordinary privilege that seldom occurs, leaving even the crew looking somewhat taken aback by the event. Occasionally, we catch glimpses into the production process as certain stunts, such as the iconic yellow Beatle scene in Mission: Impossible 7 or the London-based running sequence for M:I 8, are filmed in public. From time to time, Tom Cruise, Christopher McQuarrie (longtime franchise director), and even Simon Pegg share behind-the-scenes stories about the movies’ creation. However, hearing about it secondhand pales in comparison to being present for the action.
Fortunately, what truly counts is the final outcome, which is what fans will ultimately witness at the close of the day. We’ll eventually have the opportunity to watch “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2” in theaters, following its postponement due to Covid-19 protocols and actors/WGA strikes, with a release date set for 2025.
