Aptos, Alibaba Cloud to promote blockchain programming in APAC

As an experienced analyst in the tech industry, I believe this partnership between Aptos Foundation and Alibaba Cloud is a strategic move that will significantly impact the Asian blockchain market, particularly in Japan.

Anew endeavor spearheaded by Aptos aims to amplify their commitment towards the Asia-Pacific market, partnering with Alibaba Cloud for the propagation of advanced contract programming languages in Japan.

The Aptos Foundation has formed a partnership with Alibaba Cloud to enhance Japan’s blockchain infrastructure and boost “accessibility in APAC regions,” as stated in their blog post announced on June 28th.

According to the collaboration deal, OKCoin Japan and Alibaba Cloud have introduced Alcove – a joint developer platform endorsing the Move programming language. The inaugural project for Alcove is a collaborative meetup, which will be co-hosted by both companies, aiming to showcase the practical advantages of web3 technology and digital assets in Japan.

In addition to organizing meetups, the Aptos Foundation plans to conduct a string of hackathons for the Alcove community. These events aim to impart knowledge about the possibilities and potential of blockchain technology to the local population.

According to Bashar Lazaar, the head of grants and ecosystem at Aptos Foundation, the collaboration between the two companies is intended to foster a thriving atmosphere where Japan’s expanding curiosity in web3 technology and intellectual property can thrive.

China’s tech behemoth has consistently explored the blockchain sector as one of its expansion areas since long. In September 2023, Ant Group Digital Technologies, which is associated with Alibaba Group, introduced ZAN – a new brand designed to deliver blockchain development solutions. According to crypto.news, this fresh endeavor intends to cater to the demands of both institutional and individual developers in the web3 community by providing an array of blockchain development tools and services.
