Ultimate Mobile Edition, has exceeded three million downloads. Not only is this figure significant by itself, but it also indicates a doubling of interest in the mobile version compared to its earlier release, which is great news for Snail Games, Grove Street, and Studio Wildcard.
For those unaware, Ark: Survival Evolved is essentially a multiplayer open-world survival game set on an island teeming with prehistoric dinosaurs. You’ll gather resources, fashion tools and construct a shelter to endure not only the island’s dangerous wildlife but also other players as well.
In other words, instead of the initial, more basic version, the developers have now released an enhanced edition of Ark Mobile, offering superior graphics and performance. This updated version also promises to incorporate popular maps developed by Grove Street Games at a later stage in the game’s lifetime.
Everybody walk the dinosaur
It’s quite astonishing to reflect on how much progress we’ve made in less than five years. At first, the mobile version of Ark seemed to struggle and appeared to lack the sustained support that games in its category typically require. However, I must admit, it’s heartening to observe Grove Street making a significant comeback following the setback caused by the GTA Definitive Trilogy fiasco, as evidenced by their contributions to this recent launch.
In my opinion, it’s safe to assume that advancements in hardware capabilities as well as optimization have significantly boosted the popularity of Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition. However, what’s intriguing to observe now is how sustainable this success will be over time, and whether they can maintain it long-term.
