As a fellow gamer who has been struggling with streaming platforms since the dawn of Netflix and Chill, I can totally relate to Aubrey Plaza‘s predicament. The digital age has blessed us with endless entertainment options at our fingertips, but it seems that every time I try to access them, my password gets stuck in a never-ending loop of forgetfulness or the app glitches just as I’m about to press play.
Despite Aubrey Plaza’s impressive acting in “The White Lotus” potentially earning her an Emmy nod, she has not yet had the chance to watch it herself.
In a recent chat with The Wall Street Journal, the actress admitted that she hasn’t seen a single episode from her season on Mike White’s popular HBO series. Her character was Harper Spiller in season two.
Plaza confessed, “I haven’t managed yet, but I plan to,” referring to her inability to access HBO Max initially. In truth, she struggled with remembering her account password and often finds herself frustrated when unable to recall passwords. It simply drives her up the wall when faced with such challenges.
“I’d love a DVD, but they don’t send DVD sets anymore,” she added. “I ask them every time.”
As a gamer, I’ve got to stand up for Parks and Recreation’s alum – she’s never been a big fan of those streaming platforms. In fact, she admitted last year in an interview with Vanity Fair that it makes her pretty furious when she needs to rely on them.
Originally, Plaza mentioned, “I was attempting to stream season 20 of Top Chef. I couldn’t seem to find a solution to access Hulu + Live. I surrender! I can’t do it! I just can’t.” However, she shared an alternative method she uses instead. She stated, “When I’m unable to stream something, like on Hulu, I often head over to iTunes and purchase older movies. Or I’ll buy the entire Sopranos series on iTunes. Then my husband typically comments, ‘You can watch that for free on HBO Max.'”
Last year, Plaza received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the Emmys, thanks to her remarkable role on the show.
The White Lotus is set to return for season three in 2025.
