ShGun Season 2 Gets Biggest Update Yet From FX After Emmy Success
The production for Season 2 of FX’s Shōgun has officially commenced. The team is currently scouting locations and finalizing scripts. Unlike Season 1, which was filmed on various sets to replicate 17th century Japan, Seasons 2 and 3 might feature the real deal. This year, Season 1 of FX’s popular historical drama shattered records at the Primetime Emmys, winning a total of 18 awards – more than any other single television season. Despite being a complete adaptation of James Clavell’s novel, the showrunners, Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, alongside star and producer Hiroyuki Sanada, aim to expand the story of Lord Toranaga beyond the book in future seasons.
