In a recent interview, an actor from the movie “Avengers: Doomsday” hinted that viewers should prepare themselves for the film’s emotionally moving narrative. Next year, Marvel Studios plans to reunite Earth’s powerful superheroes for the first time since 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” The upcoming film, directed by the Russo brothers who also helmed “Endgame,” will bring together various teams from different realities to fight against the multiverse-traversing Doctor Doom (portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.) in order to save their universe.
Information about the specifics of the upcoming MCU team-up movie has been limited (with a few intriguing set leaks being the exception). However, what fans can confirm is that this film will bring together established MCU heroes with fresh faces from the Marvel franchise, such as the Fantastic Four. Additionally, it will feature legacy stars from the Fox X-Men universe, like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
In an interview with the BBC, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who starred in “Avengers: Doomsday,” gave fans a hint about the movie’s grand storyline.
When prompted to briefly summarize the concept of “Doomsday”, the actor from “Fantastic Four: First Steps” suggested it as both “Epic and Tragic”. This could imply that the upcoming Russo Brothers movie may feature some heart-wrenching scenes for its audience.
“Epic. Tragic. Intergalactic. Starry.”
In response to that, Joseph Quinn, known for playing Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Johnny Storm in Moss-Bachrach’s “First Steps,” added his praise by exclaiming, “Amazing! Brilliant! Robert Downey Jr.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that the actors from the Fantastic Four are gearing up to join forces with the Avengers in the upcoming epic, Avengers: Doomsday! Can you imagine the fun we’ll have with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, and Letitia Wright’s Black Panther? Mark your calendars for December 18, 2026, when Doomsday will storm into cinemas. This movie serves as the opening act of a two-part Avengers saga, culminating in the grand finale, Avengers: Secret Wars, slated for release in 2027, wrapping up the Multiverse Saga!
Why Will Avengers: Doomsday Is Expected To Be ‘Tragic’
In a more conversational tone, we could say: Just like in some of its past Avengers films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) isn’t shy about exploring tragic themes, and it looks like the upcoming movie “Avengers: Doomsday” will follow suit.
Previously, an Avengers movie left viewers in pieces by eliminating nearly half of all existence, later culminating in Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man selflessly giving up his life to restore everyone.
Similar to how “Avengers: Infinity War” initiated the storyline, “Doomsday” serves as the initial installment of a two-part “Avengers” saga. The film appears poised to end on a somber tone, laying the groundwork for an epic resolution in the year 2027’s “Secret Wars”.
In the case of a franchise, a character’s demise happens just once; however, Doomsday is likely to incorporate some of its unique, sorrowful surprises.
It’s been suggested that the forthcoming movie might depict the demise of some significant Avengers characters, possibly even saying farewell to Chris Hemsworth’s character Thor, who has been a staple of the series for more than ten years now.
Additionally, due to the Multiverse-centric plot, it’s likely that the film will depict various realities vanishing, with Downey’s Doctor Doom setting up conflicts between Marvel’s multiversal superheroes, as they clash with each other.
In the aftermath, when only a few champions from various universes are left, they’ll find themselves compelled to unite in the battle known as “Secret Wars” to prevent Doctor Doom from causing further destruction and chaos across the multiverse.
